I also know that I need something higher in protein to keep me satisfied longer right now during my pre op diet. Thanks for the tip though!- Protein Shake Preference/ Unjury??

I was just looking up that one right now! Glad you told me!! Thank you! And congrats on your pre op diet! good for you!!- Protein Shake Preference/ Unjury??
I know this has been posted one too many times before this, but I am desperatly on the hunt for a Protein shake that fulfills my doctors requirements, tastes good, and has enough Protein to keep me satisfied. My doctor recommends I get Protein shakes that are 110 calories MAX, 3 grams of fat, and 4 carbs MAX. I tried the EAS advantEDGE Carb Control which I liked but it was 17 grams of protein and found myself starving afterwards. I'm taking any and all recommendations! I've read a lot about Unjury... anyone tried it?- Pre op diet.. Need help
Yeah I agree. I have optimum nutrition whey protein which is what u listed also. I'm torn- Pre op diet.. Need help
They told me to substitute a Protein shake for one meal per day to get used to the diet. The nutritionist suggested eating every 4 hours with three meals and one snack. 8:40 12:30 300 (snack) 530 dinner. The problem with the protein shakes is that I need 50-60 grams of protein per day. Protein shakes are to be no more than 110 calories, 3g fat, and 3g carbs max. I only found the EAS advantEDGE carb control shakes.. They only have 17g protein per shake.- laying down horizontally
You mean flat in your back? I never heard of anything being wrong or causing issues with the band... Maybe in the stomach but that's an assumption.- Pre op diet.. Need help
So I'm scheduled for February 6th and I haven't been put on an official pre op diet yet.. The doctor and nutritionist suggested I start following a lower cal and low carb diet. I am struggling more than I've ever struggled before!!! My breakfast protein shakes are not filling me up, and I find myself binging throughout the day! I hope this isn't a sign of what it will be like with the bad. I'm starving endlessly!!- Port...left or right?
Could that have to do with weight loss and skin sagging? I didn't know ports could move either so that's a little scary!- I just got the call!!!!!!!
That's awesome!!! Congratulations!!! And thank you- I just got the call!!!!!!!
Thank you!!- I just got the call!!!!!!!
My surgery date is set for February 6!!- Port...left or right?
Awesome! I've never heard of Isopure, I'm going to look it up now! Sorry for all of the questions, I just love hearing everyone's tips for success! Keep us posted! I'd love to hear all about your journey! I wish you nothing but success!- Any February 2013 Bandsters?
First of all, congratulations! I also got my approval call today and I am SO excited! I'm scheduled for February 6. Secondly, your feelings and concerns are normal... at least I hope so! LOL.. I feel the same way you do. I'm scared to death of failing on this diet as I have always been unsuccessful long term on other diets so how will this be any different? What I've learned from the amazing people on this board is that the band is a very personal tool. Many do well and some do not. It is very person dependent. It is there to help control your hunger and tell you when you're eating too fast or too much. When used correctly, it will save your/our lives! I've also asked if people felt that this helped prevent them from falling back into their old ways and most people said yes, which for me was very comforting. All in all, I think any and all of your emotions are completely normal and justified. People are scared of the unknown.. and something this drastic and life changing is scary! Luckily, we all have amazing support systems, including this board, which is very helpful! I wish you nothing but success on your journey and can't wait to share in your joys!- Unjury question
Are you ok with Protein Shakes now? OMG, your surgery is tomorrow?!?! CONGRATULATIONS!! Do you think you'll be okay with protein shakes after surgery? If not, what will you do to supplement?- Unjury question
I'm so sorry to hear that.. what did you do instead?- Unjury question
I'm not lactose intolerant but I had an issue with the eas advantEDGE carb control drinks last week. I slowed down in drinking them and I'm okay now. I think it's just your body adjusting to such a high concentrated amount of protein... At least that's what I read online. Try the other suggestions, hopefully something works!!- I just got the call!!!!!!!
Thank you!!!- Port...left or right?
Wow! I'm so excited to feel what you're feeling! The fact that you aren't really hungry is really comforting to me. I'm having a hard time following any sort of diet these days.. it's terrible. I'm happy to hear that you are finding your way with the band so far. Good thing you haven't had any spitting up issues.. that's also a fear of mine. What Protein shakes are you using? - choosing chicken or beef broths!
