    The November 'band'wagon!

I was just banded Nov. 1st and was pretty sore for days 1 and 2 but by day 3 it was so much better. My doctor told me in advance that I wouldn't be able to get much liquid down but to try my best througoit the day. I wasn't even allowed shakes until day 3. Days 1 and 2 were water, broth, and SF popsicles.

Thanks, everyone! I just got a little nervous and anxious, I'm sure it will be fine. Just have to get through the first couple of days probably!

    The November 'band'wagon!

OK, all of a sudden I was just reading through my post-op diet again and just realized that my surgery is one week from today! I'm really getting nervous now. Especially for the days right after the procedure. Reading the post-op info is good and bad because you hear from those who had an easy time and a hard time...I'm getting a little paranoid about the potential for throwing up with the band...I need to just calm down!

    The November 'band'wagon!

I've lost about 7 lbs but I'm trying no to pay attention to the scale too much right now so I don't get disappointed. My clothes definitely feel better, though.

I'm on day 5 pre-op diet and you definitely will get used to it quickly, hang in there! I wasn't even that hungry today, finally!

    Tap Tap....is This Thing On?

I have been taking vitamins for a while so that's good and 2 weeks prior to even having to do the liquid diet I cut out all sugar and bad carbs so I pretty much did the detox then when I cut out the sugar. I am on just the protein shakes and I'm getting used to it. It just seems so much healthier to follow a plan that some others have been recommended by their doctors which includes a lean (real) protein in the evening, such as chicken or fish instead of all of that artificial stuff found in the protein drinks, but either way, I will definitely be following my surgeon's guidelines- I don't want to screw anything up!

    The November 'band'wagon!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this form and scheduled to get the band on November 1st. I'm both nervous and excited! This pre-op diet has been a little hard to start...2 weeks full liquid...so glad there is a forum to discuss issues and get questions answered. Good luck to everyone!

I'm also a Newbie here. My scheduled date is Nov. 1st. Excited but nervous also. I have two full weeks for the full liquid diet. Does that seem like it's the norm for a pre-op diet? Getting a little nervous about the lack of nutrients for that long! Today I even felt a little dizzy...
