    Horizon nj direct

    To Stephanie- I had NJ Direct at the time of my surgery in November. My BMI was 37 but I had sleep apnea. They did require me to check in with my primary care doctor for three months for a weight check. It took about a week to be approved once all the paperwork was submitted but they told me it could take up to two weeks. Message me if you have any questions! To can_do - where do you live?     No fill?

    I had my surgery on November 6th and still haven't had a fill. To date, I have lost over 60 lbs. I'm sure I'm going to need one because the weight is coming off slower but for right now, I am holding off. My dr has a policy. If you have lost more than four pounds in a month, no fill.     24 days post op and I feel I dont need a fill

    I was banded on November 6th and have lost 61.5 lbs with no fill. My dr has a policy that of you lose more than four pounds in a month, you don't need a fill. I actually just canceled my appt for Friday because I lost five pounds so far. I'm sure I will eventually need one but not yet! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Need recipes

    I ate lots of chicken, ricotta cheese and Pasta sauce during the purée phase. Also salsa and meatballs. Like Missy said, really anything that you can put in a blender with some liquid to make moist. You might also want tot try making a batch of hearty soup in a crock pot that you could blend.     Cereal?

    I add Special K Protein to my Greek yogurt in the morning. If I feel I need an extra boost of protein, I add a scoop of unflavored Protein powder. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Flamin hots

    What you need to ask yourself is what is the nutritional benefit of eating them? If they don't add Protein or Fiber to your diet, then I would either avoid them all together or eat them sparingly. I know it can be difficult but no one said this is going to be easy.     Favorite already made protein shakes?

    I use Body Fortress from Walmart. I mix 8 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk with one scoop. I don't even use a blender anymore, just one of those blender ball bottles. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  15. 1. I weighed myself this morning and I have officially lost 60 pounds since I was banded November 6, 2012 combined with my pre-op loss! 2. I bought three pair is shorts from Ann Taylor Loft this afternoon and they were all Size 12s! I can't remember the last time I was a Size 12. It has to have been over 8 years ago!!     When Do you Get Fills?

    I think it really depends on your surgeon's criteria. I had surgery on November 6th and haven't had a fill yet. My surgeon only gives you a fill if you have lost less than four pounds in a month. I have been losing more than that so a fill isn't necessary. Some people don't like this way of thinking but it has worked for me. I have lost 60 pounds so far! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

  22. Years ago, I kept having stomach problems. Random queasiness, diarrhea, and stomach pains not just on the right side. It landed me in the hospital twice for a week at a time. They did every test possible and I drank tons of the nasty barium...not pleasant! I got pregnant with my second son and was sick the whole time. After my c-section when he was born, I had the worst pain between my shoulder blades. My OB kept telling me it was air stuck in my cavity from the section. Finally I had enough! I drove myself to the ER and it was determined my gallbladder was diseased. The ER doc said it was probably the problem all along but just never showed up on tests. Five weeks after I gave birth, I had my gallbladder out. I have not had any problems with my stomach other than a minor belly ache since then! Good luck and I hope my story helps you a little.
