If you didn't quit, then you are doing GREAT! If it gives you hope...listen to this....today I've consumed about 700 calories which includes 72 grams of Protein, and I'm not a bit hungry. It's not like this everyday of course, but the hunger is so much more manageable with the lap band in the green zone. So, hopefully soon than later you will get there too! Good luck on Friday with your surgery!
  4. I'm still really early in my journey with LB, but so far I feel really successful. I would answer your question with...1. Follow the doctor's instructions. 2. Do not hesitate to contact his office if you have questions or possible problems 3. Count Protein intake and calories 4. Moderate exercise 5. Get real about any emotional baggage you might be dragging around, professional help if needed to deal with it. 6. Drink your Water...I've found the standard 64 oz per day is not adequate...when I increased my water to about 100 oz per day, weight loss became more consistent. I also think it suppresses my appetite. Regarding fills, a good doc should help you know if you are in the green zone or not. I've never been too tight, but I understand its dangerous to be too tight.

I also put the shakes in the blender with ice to make them frothy...seemed to be more filling that way to me.

Hi there! I'm not an expert, but I would think that could be very typical... Lots of water weight list in the first 2 weeks. It will slow down. I remember day 4 being the worst for me...I was soooo cranky! I just kept telling myself that it was temporary and I could get through it. After the first 5 days or so for me, I honestly made it fine. You can do it!!! Once you get all the crap out of your system, you will feel so much better. Call his office if you feel you really need something more... His nurse told me I could also have broth-based soups and Greek yogurt, but could not exceed 800 calories per day.
  7. Banded in Somerset, also by Dr. Mobley. No complications whatsoever. Doing great. So glad I did it;)
  8. I am 3 months post-op and am in the green zone. I cannot tolerate nuts, and sometimes I have trouble with sandwich meat if its too early in the day. There are a lot of foods that I haven't attempted yet because of the poor nutritional value (especially breads and pastas), but I have no problems with most meats given its moist. The only thing I've ever got stuck with and had it come back up was a pecan...and even with that, I popped one in my mouth mindlessly and did not chew properly.

What a transformation! Thanks for sharing!
  10. How do you Celebrate LB or health-related victories? The old me celebrated with special meals or food-related treats? Do you buy something special for yourself that you've had your eye on? Just rejoice in the victory itself without a tangible reward? Thoughts???? Thanks!

    How do you celebrate?

Thanks you all! I purchased a charm bracelet and add a charm for every 5 lbs lost. Some are sterling silver charms, some are pretty-but-cheap craft store beads, but they all serve as a visual reminder of where I have come from and points to the ultimate goal. I'm approaching the big ONE HUNDRED POUNDS LOST milestone. Looking for a keepsake, but perhaps the mental and emotional satisfaction is more than sufficient.
