  1. A lot of people feel the way you do. It is your buisness and you should be able to tell who you want. Do what feels best for you. I dont really have any suggestions because i dont feel i could hide it. For starters I eat really small meals and measure out everything even if I go out. Plus it takes me forever to eat everything. I have always been wide open about things and sometimes they are not received well but they are only opinons. The people who love me support me and that is all that matters to me. Sometimes you just have to get thick skin. Best of luck on your wonderfull new journey. Be true to yoursef. This is for you. Be selfish!
  2. Do we ever get to a point where we dont need any more fills? Thanks in advance for your comments.
  3. I think it is important at least for me to really understand that the band is just a tool and not a fix. The band will not stop you from cheating. Also congrats on your weight loss and good luck and well wishes on your journey.
  4. All I know i s my doctor doesnt accept Medicare. You might want to call your doctor's office or check your benefits. Good luck
  5. I think you will be fine. Just drink a lot of water. If you are interested Blu has a great electronic cig and they have several flavors with 0 nicotine. I love the vanilla, cherry and cofee flavored. Best of luck on your surgery. You are starting an exciting journey!
  6. I am just learning to understand when I am satisfied. I try not to eat immediately when I feel hungry. I fight tons of head hunger. Hope things get better for you soon. Oh also I eat really really slow and t break for 5 minutes half way.
  7. I usually stop before I am full. I eat half cup meals 3 times a day. I find a nice cup of decaf helps me if I start getting hungry or I get up and do something. The nurse told me some people are just always hungry. I can't say my meals make me feel full for 4 hours. I just find ways to deal with it or have a small snack like jello, v8,coffee also I drink tons of water and crystal light. It never hurts to check with the doctor if you feel something is wrong or not working right.
  8. I just figured it out by accident.
  9. You were right the watermelon is soOooooo bad. What is worse is that the shots irritated my tongue really bad and can't take them.
  10. I saw $3.21 today Richmond, va. Hey Enuff i am so glad to see someone from home!!!!!
  11. I so feel your pain. I swear by Crystal Light Fruit Punch. I love it. Unfortunately you just have to keep trying different things until you find one that works for you. I can't say that I dont ever miss my diet coikes, but it gets better every day. Hang in there.
  12. So noone has posted yet so I thought I would jump in. I dont remember when I was banded but I think it was in 2008. I knew it was going to be hard but had no idea how hard it really is. Have been off plan since until two weeks ago tomorrow. I was at a family event and they had a green screen picture booth and someone dragged me in there. When I saw the picture I was in shock! We were standing side by side and my stomach almost covered her. I had been thinking about getting my band checked and this pushed me to do it. FIrst I had my brother take pictures of me at all angles and i bought a cheap digital keychain to carry the pictures with me. I did not have the money but I came up with a plan and support team and then asked one of my brothers and he payed for me to get a fill. $300.00. I went to an appointment first and the nurse said they might have to empty the band and go from there. I was lucky because when I went for the fill she said my band restriction looked great and gave me a small fill. I have been anal about the food I eat and how much. My Dr only allows 3 1/2cup meals and one snack if needed. This site has really helped me Before I got back on track I was the poster girl for what not to eat. I pretty much was able to eat anything but I did occasionally force myself to throw up. I drank several sodas a day and made very unhealthy choices. I used to go to Jenny Craig and they are letting me continue to come in and weigh once a week which is awesome. Last weds after my first week i lost 6.2lbs and go in tomorrow to weigh. I am excited. I just want everyone to know that if you are thinking about getting your band life back together I am proof it can be done. Brush off any guilt you are feeling and think of it as a new start. Wrap yourself in the awesome people on this site and just start. Write down all your meals and I suggest you meet with a nutrionist your Dr knows who is familar with their plan. I have a meeting Weds. Best of luck to everyone. Thanks for starting this group!
  13. Congrats on your exciting journey! My advice is to practice chewing a lot and eating slowly. Dont drink 30 minutes before and 60 minutes after a meal and stop all carbonated drinks. Also if you are not exercising maybe start walking. I am sure you will get some more suggestions, but whatever you are supposed to after try working them in now. Best of luck to you!
  14. I understand people not wanting to tell others.. For me I think it would be hard to hide. I was told by my doctor to carry measuring cups with me so I could measure my food wherever I am not to mention how long it takes me to eat such a small portion. Of course I am only allowed 1/2 cup a meal so it is probaby more obvious for me the most of you.
  15. Several Years ago I was at a bar with my brothers and some of their friends and some guys came up to me and asked If i could settle a bet. They had bet how much I weighed. I never told anyone this. My brothers knew they upset me but not why. They chased the guys out of the bar. I have great brothers!

  21. Am on iPad and I can't figure out how to join a thread. Can someone please help me? Any other site tips are welcome. Thank you in advance. Helen
  22. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Not shakes or drinks looking for shots. Thanks, Helen
  23. Have been told to eat 3 half cup meals and one snack if needed. All I see on this site is one cup meal. Anyone else eating half cup?
  24. I don't think that is a good idea. Just my opinion. I just skip meals that tempt me too much. Not worth it and I cant afford the extra money for doctors so I can break plan. Just typing this it seems pretty crazy.
