  1. Everyone is different. One thing it does is keep me accountable. I also can ask questions etc...glad that you don't need the extra help and I am sure there are also others that don't but you see how often people post questions about how to get back on track. Those people usually haven't seen a doctor in a long time"
  2. It seems to me most people who are not doing well know why. It is really a matter of getting up brushing yourself off and getting back on. I also agree that monthly meetings with my doctor are now a priority. The nurse who is amazing told me when I can't afford to come in she wants to at least chat with me on the phone. Please don't wait as long as I did. I could have been at my goal lat least 2 times over by now.
  3. I feel your pain. I had almost the same experience. I finally called the doctor and they wanted to check my band sinc it has been so long. i was suprised when they gave me a small fill. I got focused and back to the basics. I follow my doctor's rule measure, track and eat slow. I am proof that anyone can get back on track you just have to want it enough and start making the right changes. Go over your plan with your doctor or nurse to make sure you know the guidelines and then just take it one day at a time. I lost 14.2 the first three weeks back on track and cant wait to weigh in on Weds. I did also find that I had to let go of the guilt I was feeling in order to move ahead. Best of luck you can do it!
  4. Enjoyed watching. The video. It was cool seeing another dr advocating half cup meals however my doctor says 3/4 should be Protein. A lot of what he said was very interesting however a lot of what he said is not what my doctor approves. Everyone should always listen to their doctors first. Thanks for sharing I did learn some things
  5. I have to wait 60 minutes and the are the hardest minutes of the day!
  6. Congrats! You said you might not feel enough restriction until third fill. I just wanted you to know there are those who never need a fill or feel right after the first or second fill. Focus on how you eat and how you feel. We all have the same goal but we also have different experiences as well. Best of luck to you.
  7. I like Unjury and Nectar. Make sure you are walking as much as possible it might help with the gas. Congrats. Oh also my doctor says you can no sugar added carnation instant breakfast mixed with dry non fat milk.
  8. It's the road to hell!
  9. Can't wait to here how your dishes come out. I don't have a stove right now so please share.
  10. There are lots of wats to get your protein. Chicken, fish, beans, veggie burgers (lots to choose from) I buy precooked frozen chicken and then add to BBQ or chilli. Can use to make chicken salad or in soups. This is a great time to get creative and have fun! I also don't make it a habit of drinking my calories it just makes me hungry sooner. I eat half cup 3 to 4 times a day I track on spark people and have been reaching my protein goals. Best of luck to you!
  11. I don't think it's a matter of your bmi. I know someone who did not haven much to lose but her insurance covered it because she had severe blood pressure problems. I think it is up to what criteria the doctor has or insurance if using that. Only the person requuesting the surgery knows if it for them. Just remember its for life. Best of luck
  12. Overeating true is not required but it will be tough to eat only half a cup. I don't get a cup like most of you. It will be nice to not feel stuffed this year and years to come.
  13. I was going to skip the meal and come back to visit but you all are so brave. I am going to eat with my family and take it as a challenge. I am taking my measuring cups, spoons , decaf coffee and sf pudding with me. Thanks for the inspiration
  14. Careful with the slurpees. I used to drink all the time. Most of them have cafein and they are loaded with sugar and calories. There is usually a sugar free option at each 711 but they are usually a little sour. Some are crystal light brands and are totally ok to drink. I am vey sad that I know so much about slurpees but glad I don't drink them anymore. Matter of fact, one slurpees has more calories then I now eat for the day. Ugh.
  15. What kinds of things do you like to eat and how much are you allowed at a meal?
  16. I don't know if it will help you but I started adding comments to my tracker . First of all the time I eat and how long I feel satisfied and then I also add when I have those episodes as well where I am no paying attention or have problems or even if I eat something that does really well. Best of luck to you.
  17. Is there another brand soup that is better?
  18. How is the injury chicken soup?
  19. I don't know if this will help you, but I don't eat breakfast food. I eat the same things I eat for lunch and dinner. I eat a lot of chicks En
  20. It is very interesting how different it is for each individual. I met a lady who never had a fill and lost around 150lbs. She was mad the Doctor would not remove her port. Then I meet people here who have had many fills but do not feel much restriction. And of course the only journey I really know for sure is my own. Thanks for your help.it is always appreciated.
  21. You can do it! the final straw was seeing some recent pictures of me.
  22. I guess I dont understand how you can have 0 restriction if you have a smaller pouch. i understand you might need a lot more. but how can it be nothing?
