I think the first step is that you recognize your love affair with food. Understandably in your job you would need to taste, but try to be disciplined for the pre-op diet, then remember, it is not that we will never be able to eat again, or taste again. This procedure is a tool to help us recognize and limit our intake. You will just need to account for your test tasting!! Hang in there.... it is a struggle...I am on 3rd day of my preop diet, I am scheduled to be banded November 5th!!!!!! Good Luck!

My preop diet consists of the following:I start tomorrow also and my date is 11/5. What does your pre op consist of?
2 sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast with Skim Milk
2 1/2 cups of steamed veggies
2 fruits
As needed for hunger: chicken broth, sugar free Jello or pudding, sugar free popcicles

Can you have sugar free vanilla pudding? Not as exciting as cake but at least you can have that while others are also eating.

I have ordered the Unjury Protein Powder to try, I start preop diet on the 22nd. I'm hoping the "unflavored" can be mixed with iced tea or lemonaid.. I will let you know as soon as I try it.

My preop Protein Drink is a Carnation Sugarfree instant Breakfast, chocolate mixed with skim milk. Thank goodness this is an option for me because I COULD NOT drink the other Protein Drinks. If this is an option for you I suggest you try them.
