Blondie638 got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in HELLO! NEW HERE! Scared to try Lap Band! Any stories to go for or against would be SOO HELPFUL!
Im 5 weeks out and almost down 30 lbs. (i lost a lot of weight on the pre op diet).
Its a big decision. One that i had to really think about. I read all of the possibilities of things going wrong and was scared by it. I decided ti go ahead and get banded.
Even if in five years, ten years or even six months if something horrible happens and i have to get the band removed then i figured it was worth it. Obesity is a huge problem and i was headed up and up the scale. I couldnt stop. I woulda died or even if not died i woulda continued to live my life in the corner, quiet, and blending in with the crowd. I wanted to be invisible. So even if the worst comes and i have complications or have to get iy taken out im going to be thankful for the new life its let me enjoy. And continue to have.
Its a decision only you can make. People on this forum tend to be more positive which is great but to find the complications and risks youll have to google or youtube.
Hope this helped. Message me if you need anything!!!

Blondie638 got a reaction from pitbossAC in I hate youtube
In the beginning i was a youtube fanatic. Watching everyone's journey giving me high hopes for mine. People weighing about the same as i did in the beginning have lost nearly 70-80 lbs by now (almost 7 months post op). And i can now say I've lost almost 50. Its a size able amount but i still have 80 left. Now youtube just makes me feel discouraged and that i may be struggling or may have issues.
In the past 3 months i may have lost 10 lbs. the weight loss has come to a screeching halt.
Anyone else get where I'm coming from?

Basically as soon as i woke up i was asked to wAlk around. Then do a bariatric swallow.. Then i was gone!
Surgery was totally worth it! 3 months post op and nearly down 40lbs. Slower than they want but i dont care.
Let me know if i can answer any questions for you. I was addicted to this app before surgery

I messed around with my iphonography app. But my pics i don't have two chins anymore! Haha! Great feeling.
Almost 40 lbs gone since pre op diet started on 1/11 and surgery 1/25!
Where'd you start to first see the weight drop? I think mines in my face first then works its way down.

It may be scar tissue. All of my incisions have like a hard ball underneath.
No big deal. U can try to massage them out..

Blondie638 got a reaction from brianb in HELP so confused
Be careful if u go to Mexico. I live in Texas and have many friends that have had some pretty scary experiences over there. My friends brother went there for dental work and never came home.. That was several years ago and no ones heard from him :/. I'm not saying dont so it.. On here it seems like many people have been successful with it.
I don't mean to be Debbie downer my friend and her family have been pretty heartbroken.. So it's something I mention when I see someone asking..
Good luck to you

Blondie638 got a reaction from lilmispcl in Anyone get their band at True Results in Dallas, TX? Surgery Center of Richardson
True results is who i went thru! I was banded jan 25th and love the staff (in austin) but ive heard positive reviews about true results all over the place.
Im just concerned about after care for you. They want u to come in every two weeks if possible for fills and checkups. I dont see how you would so it?
If you figure out a way to get banded at true results and after care where u are then go for it! Everything ive read says aftercare is probably the moat important part bc it keeps you accountable

Blondie638 got a reaction from Jim1967 in I'll tell you a little about me I need help
I feel the same way kershe. I was banded 1-25 and i often find myself thinking.. Damn shouldn't i be losing more? But in al reality 30 lbs in 2 months is great. We need to lose the weight slowly.. For the sake of keeping it off, lessen the risk of extra skin and sometimes i think iy can be unhealthy to lose so much so fast.
I feel your pain. But we just need to stay focused on the big picture. My goal is 8-10 lbs a month.. And in all actuality im exceeding that goal.
Keep ur chin up!

Blondie638 got a reaction from Redesigned_Curves in How well do you tolerate soda after banding?
Think about your question.
Your asking how well do u tolerate.
Anything you have to say: tolerate, for.. I don't think should have to be used.
Definition if tolerate: something that one does not like or agree with.
Listen to your body. Don't make it "tolerate" soda. This is the time to give back to your body and give it what it needs!

Damn this is a forum for support. Stip judging people because they made a mistake. She knows she did. She should just move on from it.
Sounds like your not stocked up with the Right foods. Do u have veggies? V8's maybe? sugar free juices? Stuff for smoothies etc?
Make sure u set yourself up for success. I was in the same boat right after surgery. I was barely hungry and had yo force myself to eat. Your body needs nutrients to heal properly. Coke and cheese Soup isnt going to give ur body what it needs. Make sure to pack ur fridge with a variety of food so u can be successful!
Best of luck to u! If u ever need someone to talk to u can email me. Instead of listening to people ridicule you!
