I've been hitting the gym every other day and doing crunches on the machine and noticed my port area swollen and painful. Anyone had this issue? I don't think it flipped but it worries me non the less...

Are Those New Jeans?
My closet is pretty much bare...it used to be full...and I can't "shop" in my closet any longer in my smaller clothes...its time. Time to go get new clothes. Sigh...and shoes. My feet have shrunk a whole size. Went from almost a size 26 to 16 in bottoms aand 14 in tops...since January.

Banding 13/12/13
Highly recommend getting help with not only your needs, but your baby's needs. You will be sore and getting up and down from laying down can be a challenge, so be careful. Also, its hard to do as a new mom, but try to take it easy and get your rest. You will heal better mentally and physically if you get sleep. Best of luck!

I Lost My Daughter-In-Law
Its amazing to think that we used to carry around that much weight. My 7 year old weights about 50 pounds and I've lost about 53 pounds thus far, and when I had to carry her up the stairs to her bedroom, I about died. Then it dawned on me...no wonder I huffed and puffed up the stairs...I used to carry all that weight on my person! I'm so happy and proud for you!!!

Cigna and the waiting game...
I'm down 52 pounds since surgery on 1/30/13. I'd be down more but I don't work out lol. Though I'm gonna start. I need to buy new work out clothes which I ordered today cuz all my other ones are too big for once!

Cigna and the waiting game...
Yeah its hard waiting to hear but before you know it, you'll be scheduling your op appointment! Things have been wonderful! First couple days after post op can be hard, make sure to follow your doctor's instructions to the T. Finding the green zone can take time and everyone is different. I'm hear if you have anymore questions or want more details, you can message me anytime.

Pre op consultations
I had required 3 month physician supervised nutrition classes before I could be approved by insurance. Within that time, the bariatric clinic required blood work, EEG, EKG, sleep study, nutrition classes (which I was already doing) psychological eval, physical therapy eval, nurse practitioner eval and of course the surgeon. I got it all done within 3 weeks. I could get like 3 appointments done at a time though so that was nice. Best of luck!

- Clavicular Augmentation (smirk) (Cosmetic Surgery topic)
I've not had cosmetic surgery done, but I've known a few women who have gotten breast implants and I plan on getting my mid section and breast done after I'm done losing weight. From what I've seen of them and from what they've told me, it is a pretty big shock post op. Especially if you've had a smaller chest and got some pretty big implants. If does take a while for them to settle, but they WILL settle. I remember hugging them a few months afterward and it felt like two rocks were poking my chest. I was like, man if thats what they feel like, count me out! But then after about a year, they were lower and felt more "normal". I dont need bigger breasts, I need fhem put back to where they should be and filled out more, but I want smaller breasts. I've had C's since I was 12 and I wasn't a big girl. Now i have trip E's (down from F's pre band) So I will have to do some major research and look at a lot of pictures and talk to a few surgeon's before I decide on what I would like my eventual chest to look like.- surgery DONE port is killing me...
Mine hurt for 3 weeks post op. It will get better and before you know it, you will totally forget about it! Hard to believe now, but it will!- Seen Dark floating dots
Its usually due to blood pressure being too low. And that could be for many reasons. Standing up too fast, or any change in position. Dehydration is the most common. Sometimes medication can be a factor. Or depending on how it happens and how long it happens for, it could be an eye issue. Either retinal detachment which I highly doubt or optic migraines which aren't big deals. Just drink more water and take it easy. I honestly don't think it warrants a doctor visit unless it keeps happening. Keep track of what preceeds and supersedes the event if it keeps occuring cuz if you do go in, the physician will want to know.- My goal reward system
My first reward was a new car...my 2nd will be a trip to Vegas...after that...sky's the limit baby!- Average Fills to Green Zone????
Took me 7 fills. I have 6.0ccs in my band. I was banded Jan 30 2013 and reached green zone last month. My surgeon is non aggressive on my fills and I basically stated how many ccs per fill. Everone is different. Best of luck!- Banded yesterday, freaking out today! :( Lots of discomfort
- 2 weeks post surgery, weight loss stopped...is that normal?
Every day gets better and better. Hang in there!- Sex
We did it from behind 4 days after surgery and its deffintely easier that way. I can't say mine has increased cuz its always been high, but him seeing my transformation has increased his to almost match mine now.- January 2013 Bandsters Unite
- Anyone know what this might be ??
Could be that the nerves in you abdomen are irritated from surgery...- What else will change??
The only thing they didn't tell me was how happy I will be. How proud I am of myself. How I'm becoming ME again. I have NO regrets. Everyone is different after surgery. I wasn't hungry at all for about a month after surgery. I had to force myself to eat something. I followed all the rules. I was banded 1/30/13 and so far I've lost 44 pounds. I'm not working out in the sense of a gym workout but I take the four flights of stairs at work...I park far away...I walk my dog every day...I landscape now...I swim with my daughter and I go out with my girlfriends dancing. Stuff I haven't done in yeads due to my weight and insecurities. I eat better and so does my family. I'm not near goal yet, but I have a realistic idea of what that is and for the first time, I have confidence that in a couple years I will achieve it. I'm glad you are asking these questions. Its important for you to know as much as you can. Just remember this is what you make it. You can go as far or not as far as you want it to go.- New bander info requested surgery nov 2013
Have you been banded or are looking into it?- Cigna Denied
Yeah but the flip side of that is...they will pay more down the line due to a lot of serious health issues that comes along with being morbidly obese. That was one of the reasons Medicare started covering bariatric surgery. Yeah they mighy shell out (or more like the tax payers will shell out) a big chunk off the bat, but if that lowers BP, cholesterol, DM and so on, then its worth it for them. Its a win win for both parties. But I agree with them finding canidates who are serious about it. I was never denied, but I called Cigna and was active with them and my PCP and the bariatric doctors office. Plus I'd had them back when I was thinner, so they watched all the weight pile on and all the comorbidities that went with the weight gain so maybe that's why they immediately approved me...- Cigna Denied
Oh you got it in the bag baby!! Perfect birthday present!@- Frustrated!!!
Unfortunately, you can't eat the same things the same way you used to. You can have some every once in a while but what was the point in getting banded if you are just going to fall back into the same routine? Some people don't want to give that food up, but they exercise to make up for it. Now I don't know what kind of foods you've been eating, but I'm sure its not what your body needs to lose weight. I hope you can help yourself to figure this out because once you do, and you really start losing weight, the feeling you will have is indescribable! Best of luck! - Clavicular Augmentation (smirk) (Cosmetic Surgery topic)
