  1. Fingers crossed!!!! Keep us posted!!!
  2. Because I eat better and less, so does my family. It was difficult in the beginning right after surgery, my hubby tried to make a separate meal for me but eventually he either just made what he wanted and I picked what I could or couldn't eat or I made my own meal if ut was too late at night since I refuse to eat after 6pm. My kids see me making better choices and so do they. We were never a family who had desserts or sweets but on occasion so that wasn't a big deal...you adjust and so does the fam I guess. We don't do fast food anymore and when we go to restraunts, I basically eat off my hubby or get soup and salad. My son loves that he gets my left overs...
  3. I have yes. I'm down 40 pounds and I've noticed and so has the hubs :-)
  4. Every now and again I take a few sips of diet coke or beer, but I can't drink a whole can or bottle. It upsets my stomach and gives me gas. So maybe once a month I enjoy a sip or two. I listen to my band and I think that is the most important thing. I don't ever force myself just to indulge my head lol. Best of luck.
  5. Yay!!! Did you not do 3 months worth already?
  6. I have CIGNA and I've heard its one of the hardest insurances to get approval from. They are huge sticklers on documentation so make sure its all there. My nurse was awesome and it only took four days to hear back with an approval on the first and only try. But I was a crazy lady making sure my nurse had EVERYTHING they needed and I jumped through all CIGNAs hoops. Fingers crossed for you!
  7. Yes, that is where my port is. They are usually near (not at) your longest incision. It will be sore for sometime because it was sewn into the muscle. Mine still gets sore from time to time if I'm doing a lot of activity or bend wrong.
  8. I can't brup either and I was band January 30 2013. Let me rephrase that...I can but its not the same as before. And I can't if my pouch it too full.
  9. Give it time. Your body needs to get adjusted. It was used to a certain caloric intake for a long time and now its in shock. I can't say not to weigh yourself a lot cuz I weigh every morning so I can see if what I ate the day before is affecting me negatively or not. I would rather weigh once a week but I'm a perfectionist and have issues lol
  10. I don't 'burp" anymore, its more like this weird noise lol that is close to a burp. We call it a hicburp in my house now and my kids think it the best new sound.
  11. I was approved 4 days after submitting to Cigna insurance and my surgeons office was right on top on it and offered my a date that week, but my work asked if I could give them a two weeks heads up so I scheduled it two weeks after approval.
  12. Sex

4 days post op. No issues. Have IUD so didn't worry about birth control.
  13. Didn't have a required pre op diet. Guessy doctor didn't feel my liver size would be an issue. I was seeing a nutritionist for 3 months prior and we were working on changing my habits before sugery so it wasn't too much of a shock. I lost 7 pounds prior. I just had to have the typical liquid 24 hrs prior to sugery.
  14. I bent down a week post op and my stomach fat flopped over my jeans and the port went with it. I cried out in pain it hurt so bad. I was sore for a week. Needless to say, I was super careful after that. I was scared I popped the stitches that connected the port to my muscle but takes a lot more then that I guess.
  15. Its just a pinch if you have someone who is skilled in giving fills. No worries. I just make my usual stuff (I was never a bad eater just ate a lot and grazed) so I can't help with the recipes.
  16. It will get better in time. Don't keep that crap in your house if its too tempting. You shouldn't be eating that a week out anyway. Give your poor body a chance to heal. Its not a miracle. Its a tool. It was surgery and the port was stitched to your muscle of course its going to hurt. Mine did for two weeks but every day it got better. Just keep your chin up and take pain meds.
  17. It will get itchy as it heals. Ever notice when you start scabbing from a scratch that it itches? Mine itched as it healed too.
  18. Was at a platue for a couple weeks and then had my fourth fill and hit the green zone...the weight started coming off again! Just be patient dear, it will happen!
  19. Was never told to avoid stairs. I have a two story house and I climbed the stairs hours after surgery with no issues. Took it easy of course. No lifting more then 10 pounds for 4 weeks of course.
  20. When you change your diet, you can change the natural flora in your digestive system. It could be a number of things. Make sure your not constipated. Are you eating yogurt? Or have you changed anything drastic in your diet? If anything, make an appointment to see your band doc and or talk with your nutritionist. I wish you the best.
  21. Surgery was on 1/30 and I'm down 31 pounds thus far. Very happy with that loss. Had 3 fills so far and am in the green zone. Feels good. Hreat job on all the losses guys!
  22. I had those burps that weren't actually burps too. And I still have the shoulder pain. Never felt nausea but I took my anti nausea meds all the time. It goes away...
  23. I still have mine and I'm 3 months post op today. Everyone varies. Some don't ever have it. Some have it a couple days or weeks. And some of the more unlucky ones get it permanently. Usually caused by over eating. Its different in my case though. I will get it for no reason and nothing helps. Hope you aren't like me.
