  1. I like them. The vanilla bean is my favorite right next to cookies and cream. I like the variety and I like the thickness. There isn't a weird after taste either.
  2. I've tried many protein shakes and my fav's are the Nectar ones. They have many different flavorings to pick from. A large container cost me $41 dollars and I got it at the Vitamin Shopp. They sent me an e-mail with a 20% percent coupon for my entire purchase. I go there for my vitamins too since I'm super picky
  3. I feel a hard lump where mine is and yes, its warm. It was sewn into muscle. Mine is upper right abdomen.
  4. Still in pain. Had surgery Wednesday. No gas pain just sore where my port it. Taking pain meds and trying to relax. I think I'll ask my hubby to drive me to get a pedicure. I need one!
  5. The lap band was my 8th major surgery. 6 of which were in my abdomen. I've had my gallbladder removed and never remember there being gas pain. However, I had exploration laparoscopy for endometriosis and had mayor gas pains after. With the band, I only had gas pains in my left shoulder while in the hospital.
  6. Thank you both for the replies. I called my surgeon this morning. She said she cut through muscle and attached my port in my upper to mid abdomen, so both of those could be the culprits! I added one tylenol to my 2 oxycode/4 hours. We will wait and see! I've been walking and moving, but I can't stand up straight with out massive pain.
  7. Thanks everyone. I'm taking 2 oxycode per 4 hours with tylenol and it's not even touching the pain. The surgeon told me they have to cut through muscle and my port is right there too, so that's what causing the pain. I haven't been hungery though! Been sipping on my liquids and carrying a water bottle with me while I walk around the house. Next time, bowel regimen! Fun times!!
  8. I'm having very sharp burning pain in my upper abdomen and I know its not gas. My gas pains were very little and located in my left shoulder. I've been walking, resting and taking my pain meds but the pain is very bad no matter what. I had surgery yesterday morning. I'm going to call the surgeon when they open. Ugh.
  9. My upper abdomen hurts a lot. It feels like my skin is on fire. The pain meds I'm on isn't cuting it. Going to call the doctor.
  10. Immediate release oxycodone and promethazine. Both very small and easy to swallow. Works great. Gas pains are bettered with walking.
  11. Thanks everyone. It was a great experience and I can't wait to work my band and get healthy again!
  12. I am officially a bandster! Just got home from the hospital and besides some soreness and being tired, I have no complaints!
  13. Just got home from the hospital. Officially banded baby! No complications, no hernias and barely any gas pains which resolved as soon as I got up to go the bathroom.
  14. Its from the gas they used to inflate your abdomen. It will go away. The more you're up and walking, the faster it will go away.
  15. Good luck today!! I'll be thinkin bout'cha! Keep us posted!
  16. No, you're not too young. Teenagers get the Lap Band. However, like everyone else has posted, make sure its the right journey for you. Do your research, talk to doctors, psychologists ect. Really get a feel for if you're ready for a huge commitment. I've had many major surgeries, so for me, its just going under the knife again, but its the struggles before and after that made me think about it for two years. Most of us on here have tried EVERYTHING, and I mean, everything first. Please be wise. And I'm glad that you are taking control now. I've heard so many people on this forum say how they wish they'd done this sooner. You're never to young to want to be healthy.
  17. My pain meds are immediate release oxycodone and they are super tiny. So I don't have to worry.
  18. If you have a job where you are on your feet and doing heavy lifting, then 4 weeks is the norm. When I had my gallbladder removed, I was a CNA and the surgeon made me take at least 4 weeks off. I work a desk job and my surgeon wants me to take two weeks off after my lap band surgery next Wednesday. So if I were you, I'd 1) check with your surgeon and 2) take all the time you can get.
  19. I hope they can read them quickly for you!
  20. Me! Me! The 30th at 7:30am pacific time.
  21. I code charts from the ER and there are so many patient's that come in dehydrated and malnourished from gastric bypass that it made the choice for the band that much easier. Granted the sleeve is different I'm not about to have the majority of my stomach removed. Never to get it back. Possibility stretching what did remain out and being back to square one. I wanted something I could control. That if needed to, could be removed. My personal opinion and how I decided to get the band. I wish you the best in whatever you decide.
