I was told VGA is a "vertical gastric adjustment". Not sure what it is & if different from a fill.

Oops, accidentally sent before finishing my post! I was banded on January 31, went for first f/u appointment yesterday which they said was for a "VGA" (vertical gastric adjustment). Nurse weighed me and said since I lost 30 pounds already she wanted to wait til next appt. I have 3 appts scheduled - 2 say they are VGA and the third is a fill. My question is what is difference between VGA and fill?

Thanks!! Getting scared!! Up until now everybody been telling me this is no big deal. Now I'm hearing how bad gas is after, just had coworker tell me he had hard time catching his breath after surgery & how horrible it was & the pain he had. Now I'm freaking out about going through process.

I go in Thursday morning for mine. Getting a little nervous. Up until now everybody says it's relatively simple procedure. Just had someone today tell me about coming out of surgery & how bad it was for him. Now I'm terrified about it.

Just curious what post-op pain medication is prescribed. Thanks!

Can you have coffee on pre-op diet? I see nothing in my instructions for it. Only place it mentions coffee is the day before surgery that you can't have. Do you get pain meds after surgery? Or are they needed?
