    In Extreme Pain

Oh my gosh do i remember those gas pains...ugh!!! Im only 2 weeks post op, but those first 2 or 3 days were brutal! I really thought my collarbone was going to crack in half..lol. I just took gas-x and my pain meds every 4 hrs and kept a heating pad on my shoulder at all times. I also got up and walked up and down my street at least once every couple of hrs. I know walking hurts, but in the end, it was the only thing that really worked the best. Good luck....it will get better....promise!
  2. I swear all doctors are so different!! I had to do clear liquids for 14 days, then day 14-21, soft foods like oatmeal, cream of wheat, refried beans, etc..., then day 22 starts regular food. I didnt even have a mushy stage

Remind Me Again - Why No Liquids?

You know i was reading my post op instructions last night and it said you may sip water with your meals. Seems weird i thought.....

    First Meal After

Lol...im so glad i wasnt the only one who thought they would die. I literally cried every single day, sometimes multiple times a day because i seriously thought i wasnt going to make it. Im still in my liquid stage but Monday i start soft foods. I cant wait!!

    First Meal After

My doctor also goes directly from liquids for 14 days, then soft foods for 7 days and then on day 21, real food!! No mushy phase i guess. Omg, i have never been so excited to eat cottage cheese, oatmeal, and egg salad in my entire life..lol! Ive had it with liquids and drinking my meals.
  9. Good...glad thats all it was.
  10. Maybe you are allergic to the medication. I agree....call your doctor

    New Here! Day 6 Post-Banding

I was also banded on Nov 8. Im so sick of liquids, i could scream! And i also feel very bloated. My stomach is still tender and im having shoulder and upper back pain this evening. Ugh...i sure hope this passes soon and i start to feel normal soon. Its super hard for me to get any water down too. It goes down ok, it just feels like im full ALL of the time, but i also feel hungry at the same time. Does that make sense to anyone?
  12. Yay!! Im far from being 100% but today is the first day that i actually feel somewhat human and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now if i could just get thru this liquid stage, i would be great!! Lol. Im so tired of Protein shakes and broth, i could scream. Hurry up Monday....mushies for me...yay!! Hope everyone is doing and feeling well. Xoxo Angela

    Major Question

Thats what i did. Its hard but u can do it. U just get tired really easy
  16. I used true results in richardson. My surgeon was Dr. Benevides. To be honest, they were really helpful until after my surgery. I was just banded on Nov 8 and the doctor literally talked to me for a total of 5 min....2 min before surgery and mayne 2 or 3 after. The lady that works in his office is rude and i just feel like they kinda rush you in and out of surgery. Someone from there did call me the day after surgery but i havent heard from anyone since. I havent gotten a fill yet so i cant tell you about the aftercare. I didnt necessarily have a bad experience with them but i kind of feel like they worked really hard to get me in and thats about it.....
  17. Im not a teacher, i work in accouting but i did have my surgery on Nov 8 and i have to go back to work tomorrow and i am absolutely dreading it. I dont think im ready at all but im going to attempt it. To answer your question, i dont think you will be able to make it the day after surgery. I could hardly get off the couch day 2, much less stay on my feet for a whole day. If you dont want to tell them you are having weight loss surgery, then just tell them you are having a medical procedure done that requires you to stay off of your feet for a few days. Maybe your doctor can get you something like you said without actually saying it. Good luck on your surgery.
  18. I had surgery on Nov 8 and i just have no energy. It takes all i have just to take a shower and do normal things. I think i have cried about 4 times since surgery asking myself "what have i done" i just cant see the light at the end of the tunnel right now. It doesnt seem like i will ever get better. I dont feel like im getting enough nutrition and thats why i feel like this. I also have to go back to work tomorrow and really not sure how im going to make it. I guess i just needed to vent
  19. Thank you everyone for the replies. I feel a little better. I ate some tomato soup and drank some tea and hae been resting. I know my daily struggle will be getting the protein in because the shakes just arent working for me. I have to force myself i guess. I had my first BM today since surgery (tmi..i know sorry) so hopefuly that helped as well. I was one of the ones that didnt have to do the pre-op diet so this is just a drastic change. I have 10 more days until i can start mushies/soft foods.....*sigh* seems soooo far away :/

    Just Had Surgery...

I had surgery yesterday 11/8 and today is much better than yesterday. Yesterday the gas pains were HORRIBLE and they were in my neck and shoulders and I felt awful. Today they are gone in that area but I do have some in my stomach area. I started drinking my protein shakes today but can only drink about 3-4 sips before I start to feel full and uncomfortable. I also have lots of rumbling in my tummy followed by a gas pain, Hopefully we will all start feeling better soon.
  23. Hi everyone-I got banded this morning and the surgery itself went good but I'm in soooo much pain NOt so much my incisions, although they are a little sore but its the gas thats killing me. It hurts to take deep breaths and it feels like my collarbone is broken, Thats where it hurts the most. I have tried Gas-X, I have tried heating pads, I have walked and nothing. The only thing that seems to relieve it a little is when I put pressure on my chest. Please tell me this pain will go away soon. I have had it since I woke up from surgery and I just want to cry Thanks Angela
  24. No you arent the only one...im right threre with ya!
