The surgery went well and I had no problems at first until we tried to fill the band. I saw my surgeon, then saw the other surgeon in the office. Each had a compleatly different views on how they filled the band. One was very careful and I had to bring in a food dairy. The other MD just went ahead and filled the band never asked any questions. After the post surgery visits you saw the RN not the MD. Unless you requested to see the MD's.

My problem was that every time I went into the office for my follow up care there was always a new RN or PA. Each person told me something different. It was very confusing. Also I complained about very bad heartburn. They told me I could take OTC Tums or Prilosec but only for 2 weeks. Nothing really helped I still had heartburn everytime they tried to fill the band. Then some fluid removed was removed, then filled again. I got tired of the process.

The last time I was in the office. the first thing that was said to me " well the band doesn't work for you and your insurance will cover a gastic bypass" . That not what I wanted nor did I feel that was the solution to the problem. In all the time and money I have spent going back and forth I regained almost all my weight.

Needless to say I have not been. However I did find a new surgeon and I really like him and the team. I feel like they are trying to help me. I saw him In July 2012 and I have lost 10 lbs so far. I have found out so much information on the placement of the band, what my blood lab values were (which no one bother to check before). So now I have hope, I just want to get down to a nice weight so clothes will fit, but most of all I just wat to be healthy.
