  1. Hello! I'm an October bandster. Just wanted to pop in and tell you all that you are doing great. Hang in there because it gets easier. I was one that had it pretty easy. Constipation from anesthesia fixed with suppository. Left shoulder pain is from tube hitting nerve on diaphragm. Heating pads help. Call dr for gelcap Advil if needed. All the health problems you are facing along with surgery is just an indicator how desperately your body needed this lifeline. Stay positive! It is well worth it. I don't joke around with foods for my own satisfaction. During each food phase I only ate high quality foods. Cooked veggies and meats, puréed or mushed. Even if you feel great your body is healing so be careful not to overdo it from excitement. I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm down 32.5 lbs with another 60 to go. Well wishes to you all.
  2. Wow! Congrats on being proactive in getting the sleeve so you can continue to live at your health weight.

Mine also lives on my bra. When I go walking I use runkeeper app to track miles using GPS. Fitbit is spot on with the GPS. I rarely use the armband to track my sleep because I clip it to my jammies. It also is accurate. Crazy how it works but it is amazing!!
  4. I've made this before but added the whipped cream as a topping. I also added 2 scoop of vanilla protein. Tasted just like pumpkin pie! SOOO good!
  5. Everything that needed to be said has been already said so I'm just gonna add this: I saw my friend drop a lot of weight fairly quick so I asked her what she was doing. She said TWO YEARS AGO she got banded and lost 40lbs between preop and post surgery then NOTHING for almost two years. Then it all started working for her. She kept working with her team until it all clicked. Don't give up, don't miss your appointments, speak frankly with your team. And follow the advise listed above in increments you feel comfortable with. Hugs to you!
  6. Depending on where you live the Water is really hard and it's just harder to consume. Some bottled water tastes like crap! That is why some of us have a hard time with water. I hate almost all crystal lites and mios and all flavored drinks because I'm not a sweets fan. I slice cucumber in a beautiful pitcher of filtered ice water so I feel like I'm at a spa. It goes down smoother. But I also drink a lot of hot herbal tea.
  7. My question is: could it be muscle pain/ soreness from working out? Did it happen suddenly after a certain movement? Is it sharp pain? You may have overdone it but I'm with Sandy, call your doctor!
  8. Pineapple juice helps because of the enzymes in pineapple and the acid of course. Walking around while moving arms and staying calm helps.
  9. You'll never look sexier!....ha! I took a pic too, all hooked up. I now have no dignity left! Ha!
  10. That's really great news! I started my journey in the obese range too. The tiresome struggle with my weight over the last 10 years is what brought me here. I was a skinny child teen and young adult. Life traumas caught up to me though. To get the surgery though I actually had to get a diagnosis for sleep apnea before my insurance Would approve. I'm glad insurance companies are rethinking their position. I'm doing amazing and loving my new life. It's saving me from myself. Being obese and morbidly obese is the same thing though. I'm no better because of my bmi. I relate to the 65+ bmi as I do with the 30 bmi. We are all just children of pain working toward a common goal. I wish you the best of success on your journey.

    Johnwilley77 is really amazing!
  12. The pain in your shoulder is caused by something else. It's your left shoulder right? Well my dr shed some light on that pain a few weeks ago. It is your tube rubbing against your diaphragm that causes a little inflammation. Check out the tread " shoulder pain- revealed" they do a better job explaining it than me. My dr had me take gel cap Advil. Heating pads helped relieve the pain. Call your dr for instructions if it doesn't go away. Hope this helps.
  13. So the part of the stomach that gets folded over is the part that signals hunger and communicates with the brain. That is the part that gets removed with the sleeve. Plication works as an added tool because it muffles the screams to eat more food that your brain hears. I had never heard about this until after my band. This is the only info I know about the sleeve because I asked my surgeon at my last appointment to explain it to me.
  14. You are too funny. Knee high ankle weights would be knee weights right?
  15. Awe cut nnicole some slack. She's one of the sweetest people on here! I didn't know you could get wls with a BMI of 30 unless self pay. Good to know. How did your insurance authorize it? Did you need another condition linked to being overweight? What insurance do you have. I'd love to have some of my friends switch to ones that don't cause issues with authorization.
  16. Yeah sorry, I'm out o the kitchen and not on the food network either. I have never liked sweets but cupcake wars and cake boss has me wanting frosting out of the can! That leaves me with having real man vs food...after all that's all I got left.....heehee!
  17. And will you post a pic of that?
  18. And will you post pics of that?
  19. I get my hubby back after 32 days! No he wasn't in jail...ha! He was out of the country, with his parents as his mother lost her battle to a brief viral infection. I'm so glad to get him back home that for the moment...HE ....CAN......DO.....NO....WRONG! ( see me in a month though and maybe I'll have something )
