    Question about surgery

I had my gall bladder out a couple years ago and am having the surgery Jan 17. My surgeon told me that he can use the holes from the previous surgery but will have to make at least one more and possibly two. I told him I don't care how many incisions he needs to make...I just want it done. And he said, oh, you'll change your mind on that when you're a size 8 and want to wear a bikini. I have never worn a bikini in my whole life!

I'm doing okay...not great. Still have that evening hunger where I crave something. I have lost 7 lbs this last week. Two more weeks to go! I'm traveling over the next 4 days and am nervous about my will power but my mom will be around to keep me in line

Yeah I'm still hungry. I just try to keep myself distracted by doing things and drink ALOT of water.

  11. I've had a difficult time getting this started but think the only way to add a post is to go to 'Add News' under the 'Group Navigation'. If you know of any easier way, please share

Ok. Are you doing a liquid diet before your surgery? I'm at day three of mine and it's tough!

Day 2 & 3 were easier during the day but I still had soup and crackers for dinner. I don't know what it is about 6pm but the thought of having another protein shake disgusts me at that hour. I don't eat anything after dinner...maybe just have some tea. So I'll try again tomorrow I just went grocery shopping and got all kinds of things to make all sorts of recipes I've found online. If there's anything that's really good, I'll let you know!!!

3 weeks. I'm not sure why...maybe because I have so much weight to lose? Thanks! I'll keep you posted

    Pulmnologist?

They will probably check blood pressure and pulse and check your oxygen intake and then have you do a breathing test where you suck in as much air as possible and then blow it out as hard and as fast as you can. You'll do that a couple of different times and they'll record the readings. And they will ask you a lot of questions about your breathing to see if your asmatic. Oh, and they'll probably weigh you, too. I used to go often when I was having asthma issues, but now I only go once a year for my sleep apnea.

    40 Banders...

I'm getting banded on Jan. 17. I'm going to take a picture in the same spot everyday until I reach my goal weight!

Did anyone ever regret the surgery

I'm getting banded Jan. 17 and am so excited about it that I can't imagine regretting it. I know the weight will come off and I have to work hard for it, but I'm not focused on the scale. I want to fit in a seat at the movies, walk up stairs without losing my breath, walk downstairs without my knees hurting, shop for clothes in a fashionable store, go hiking in the mountains...the list is endless. I gave birth seven years ago. I don't believe this can be any harder than that.

I've told a my immediate family and a few close friends but am stopping there because I know I'll still have to do the work and make the right food choices. As I've read on here and been told by my doc, the band is not a cure, it's a tool. I'll still have to count calories, etc. So now that I'm on the liquid diet, those who don't know me too personally are just getting the story that I'm trying to lose weight and then the days I'm off from work for surgery, I'll just tell them my son or my mom was sick and then when I start losing weight I'm going to tell them how I'm counting calories and exercising. Most people just want something to gossip about - and it's not going to be me

Good luck! I'm scheduled for Jan. 17. Today was the first day of my liquid diet and it was easy until dinner when I caved and had chicken noodle soup and crackers which I don't think is bad considering my old habits. Tommorrow is another day!
