  1. Please tell me how painful it is! People have been so nice about it but I would love realistic! I want to be prepared and no regrets.

everyone is different! I was soo afraid of the pain because of some of the horror stories I read on here. lol.. I went for surgery at 8:00am I was home by 11am. Gas pains hurt but they are not unbearable and I am sorta wimpy with pain. hehe. Walk walk walk helps a lot to move that gas around and get it out.. get some gas x to help get it out as well. Hdoll is right.. book a recliner for a week!! I slept in it and didnt have problems. Day 2 was the worse of the pain for me, by day 3 it was starting to get better and by day 4 I was like.. wow that was it? lol.. It was WELL WORTH it! good luck!

  2. Boring me... no tats at all!

Time to do one gf!! ;)

and all your tats sound awesome!! I have 1 on my left ankle of a wild flower with a sun in the middle. I plan to get another sometime in the future!

  3. the hunger will go away in due time. It depends on the person. Some feel it right after surgery, some take a few months. My band started to work for me on my 3rd feel 2 months out. At first it is just like a diet, it's difficult, you're hungry.. but after my 3rd fill omg the difference I felt. I am not to restrictive where I get pb espisodes or stuck which I like. I can eat anything without a problem, but I love is that I can eat a small portion and literally feel satisfied for 4hrs or so. I notice now, when i eat something I often don't even get to finish what i have served myself. Eating slow and smallbites help very much to feel the satisfied feeling. Good luck to you hun!!! best thing I could have ever done for myself! :)

  4. I started to fill restriction on my 3rd fill. I have 6cc in my 14band. This is a very great question! As of right now I am satisfied where I am. I can still eat anything with no problem. I chew chew and take smaller bites, ( still working on the bite size ) but now I notice I get to my satisfied stop quicker now. I don't feel anything physically stop me from anything. I just feel satisfied for 4hrs. I start to hiccup or sigh and I stop and I am good. Sometimes I feel slightly full, but not bad at all.

  5. Hiya! and congrats on your decision! Let me tell you.. it is the BEST decision I have ever made. I can relate.

Self pay will allow you to have th surgery a lot sooner than insurance does. You will most definitely get this done before Dec. It may only take about a month or so but it all depends on the play you go. So here is to taking your life back and on the road to freedom!

P.S. Keep us posted on your journey and after you get your consultation. :)

  6. Hiyas and welcome!! glad things are going smoothly for you! shoulder pain is gas, and walking lots throughout the day helps. Gooing to work tomorrow, just make sure to get up and walk at least every hour, you don't want to get blood clots also. No good. Good luck with your journey.. we are all here to chat, ask questions or anything at all. **hugs**!

  7. I don't think I slept long! I kept waking up and I'm typically a sound sleeper. It wasn't because I was being watched it was because of all the wires attached to me. I was afraid to move in case I disconnected something. I am still waiting for the final results.

I had a sleep study as well, and I slept a little also because of all the wires and it also made me feel warm. lol.. I am one that has to sleep with a fan on me. The little sleep I did have was enough for them to tell me I had sleep apnea. ><

  8. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who is having trouble. I have been trying to be good but it is getting harder and harder. I keep trying to tell myself to focus on the bigger picture. Is it just me but it seems there are a lot of posts here recently from people who did not have success with the band. My sister's friend did not have luck and converted to the sleeve. I told my husband that I would love to lose more, and I will lose more, but right now I am going to enjoy this 40 pounds I lost since the beginning of this process. It's already like having a new lease in life. I have set my first mini goal that is doable but I am not setting a timeframe. I am fine with the gradual loss. I thank you all for sharing your stories. They help me know I ambit alone. :)

Oh hun, most of the people who do not have success with the band is because they don't change their lifestyle the way it needs to be changed. It is not with just the band, but with all other WLS too. Yes, they'll get the weight off a bit faster, BUT!! because they don't really change their lifestyle, end up regaining their weight. Happened to a friend with the bypass surgery,. and 2 friends with the sleeve. It is all up to the person. We are going to have struggles because we always failed with diets, lost some, gained back... the band really helps ( once you get a couple fills ) to satisfy your hunger.

I have never been a compliant patient, but I am starting to see that if I want success, I better. It's taken me a couple months to figure this out lol.. but now, I am taking the small bites and chewing and waiting close to a minute to take another bite.. omg.. it is the hardest thing for me !! but I get my soft stop so quickly it seems and I stop.. Since doing it the RIGHT way, sad to say 2 days now, I've lost 2.5 lbs!! Oh yes.... I am following the rules! hehe.. I still have things I enjoy also.. It is really hard in band hell when you feel you have nothing but your will power and we all know that only lasts for so long.. how bad do you Want it? It will come.. and you will be a new person!! :)
