  2. Most have to go through the 6months. I was told I had to go through that, then I received the best call ever and they said, actually all you have to do is 1 nutrition meeting with your Dr. My dr wrote up for me that I had tried everyhthing known to man basically, it was pretty cute, he says.. you tried weight watchers? I said, no.. he said.. you DID try weight watchers right? I said, Ooh .. Yes.. Yes I DID! hehe What insurance carrier do you have? and I would also see if there is anything to speed that part up if you want that is? Since mine had said 6months in the insurance rules.. I don't think they ever updated it. I went through, O-band. They did all that for me, when I told my surgeons office about that awesome news, they looked at me like I was crazy and said No, i believe your insurance requires the 6months. She called in front of me just to make sure, and sure enough all I needed was the 1 visit to my Dr. Not to get your hopes up, but always worth a try, I have Blue cross blue shield. Maybe my BMI was to high and they though, she woman can't wait! I'm not really sure why. lol anyway.. Good Luck to ya!!

    I am sure with hard work you can get close to that. But then every body is different.. I wouldn't have thought 13-14lbs a month would be unhealthy.. My goal for this month was 15lbs lol.. You all are most likely right, I doubt I will reach that goal, especially since I haven't hit it hard.. just moderately.. I would think as long as you are eating healthy, ( not starving yourself ) and exercising.. and if you lose that weight then awesome.. but if you don't.. know you gave it your all and be proud of what you did accomplish

    Bread, rice and pasta

    I can eat bread just fine.. I only eat whole wheat though, I have had 1/3 a roll once and it went down fine, but like floridays said.. not something to push. I've only tried a couple bites of rice before my fill so not sure if it will do anything now, I have tried it since.. and also haven't done pasta yet, but I do have some whole wheat pasta.

    you all are doing great!! Mine also resets jan 1st.. and have only had 1 fill.. I have no restriction at all. still losing.. but also because of diet/exercise. I hope the next one does it! and also.. if i need to before jan 1st.. lol.. how soon can I get another fill?

    A Very Blessed December Challenge

    Checking in at 288.5 from 292 - down 3.5 lbs this week. today I went up half a pound. bah! But happy about the progress! to those who didn't this week.. no sweat! get em next week!! and grats to all who have lost some pounds.. and DEE!! 140's! wow thats awesome!!!

    Newbie!!

    Congrats on making this lifestyle change! and welcome! you will find so much information here it' awesome! Numbed for fills.. where do I sign up? I've had 1 fill and um.. OUCH! stuck me.. I was like.. oh not bad.. until she started pressing on my tummy and moving the needle around in there. Hitting the port but not finding the spot.. she had me do a crunch and hold... let's just say it hurt. She said the 1st is the worse and would be much easier the next time.. I sure as hell hope so! not that i can do much though because I'd have to take it regardless lol Good Luck All!!!

    Do you track your food? If not, join something like myfitnesspal.com and track EVERYTHING you put into your mouth. Be completely honest and you might find out what is stalling you. If you make an account, add me, I'm destynee13. It's pretty cool to see other's food journals and it helps to give you idea's on what to eat. Are you sticking to 1 cup per meal?

    Good Luck! awesome decision! Was banded 10.22.12 have lost 37lbs. Week first wasn't as bad as I had prepared myself for. Everyone is different. 2nd day was the worse, i had a hard time with liquids, it went down fine, I was just sooo bloated that i would take a sip and i'd blow up and pains would start.. 3rd day was starting to ease a bit and the 4th day I was starting to feel a whole lot better Gasx.. walk walk walk off that gas and rest up

    Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

    I was wondering where you disappeared to Missy!! Glad you had a great time! minus the sucky drive.. but hopefully it was pretty! 2lbs isn't much for a vacation.. back to the awesome grind! I am continuing to semi carb cycle. Since I am 7 weeks out of surgery, I do low carb low carb, high carb. Seems to work better for me. have lost almost 10lbs in 2.5 weeks

I have thought about starting somewhere and moving my way up from there... I'll let you know!     What's Your Current Band And Fill Size?

    14 size band and 2cc. I go for my 2nd fill on the 19th! I am sure I need one, I don't feel any different atm. 37lbs down!

    Plateu?

    2 weeks post op, I stalled for 3 weeks! I had lost 28lbs quickly and also went up 2 lbs and back down.. it just fluctuated for 3 weeks. I started to carb cycle lightly, and it began to finally move. There is a thread on fitness/nutrition area called Carb cycle solution. Worth a try.. doesn't work for everyone but it has worked for a lot.. myself included.. I really love it and plan to make it apart of my lifestyle.. I just changed it a bit to fit myself. I do no carb no carb, and higher carb. Hasn't let me down yet. Hope this helps. Good Luck to ya!

    No.. I want to be though! lol.. and it is so true. Some people think you do a 180 just like that. It takes time to adjust to a new lifestyle. I know I have more than I ever thought possible and it gets easier each day, of course there are days I want everything.. ( damn mind ) but I don't, I grab something healthy instead. 98% of the time. lol.. no one here is perfect.. I can't wait till I have it all down though thats for sure!

    CHEZ you meanie! lol jk.. well I for one got big.. because of LATEEE night eating.. worse thing ever.. and I eat more now during the day.. but my job.. well they are assholes.. and I rarely am able to get away when I need to eat something. I do bring my lunch.. but right when I sneak in the back to slurp down a Protein drink.. thinking ok.. i'll take my break in 2-3 hrs.. they are like.. ok kayna.. go to lunch.. and i'm thinking.. sigh.. aint this a B****. I have asked but to no avail, because our lunches are paid for.. we don't always get to have one. Grrrr... Really trying to find a routine that works.. I will by golly! lol
  25. Hiya and welcome! I honestly believe in the band. I have only had it a short time. Oct 22nd 2012, and It has been the best decision I have made. It is a tool, and you can't expect for it to do all the work for you. It's not a miracle worker.. but it is a powerful tool used in the right way. It helps to keep you satisfied on smaller amounts of food for a longer period of time. it takes hard work and dedication, but it helps soo much! Other WLS to me are to high risk. To many complications, and the lap band was perfect for me. It is something that will help me lifelong. unlike other's such as the bypass or sleeve. You can stretch your pouch the way it was before surgery, and all those horrible complications for nothing. The band, you can always go in for a fill if you feel you are starting to eat more than you should, and are not being satisfied for a longer period of time. Besides it's reversable if need be. Good luck on your decision to makiing a better healthier you! Hope you join us! **hugs*!
