I would do it and go all out before surgery, you're never going to get to eat like that again! LOL. I'd be at cheesecake factory and eating all the sweet desserts I love before the band.

I hate "plus size" section in stores, like seriously they are disgusting and so ugly and they defend me. I think that Lane Bryant is the only one who does "plus size" right. I hate Old Navys. All of their clothes are unflattering on my body.

I agree with you, whoever waited on you was not having a bad day shes just a horrible shallow human being seriously. Its like being a second class citizen. Its ridiculous

I never had a problem with being waited on, and I am overweight. I feel so bad for any of you that have. I can't believe a salesperson would do that to you and miss the potential sale. That is ridiculous. I have had the discrimination from waiting on people. I work at a card store and during the summer I was working with this really pretty girl, my age and she was skinny of course.. anyways if both our registers were open guys and even women that came in would automatically go to her register. I was like what am I not capable to wait on you. The thing that really annoyed me was she sucks at ringing people up and was always asking me to help her. Just because I'm fat does not mean I'm not capable of waiting on you. Geeez.

Is the One A Day Weight Smart vitamin a good vitamin to take? Or should I try a different one?

Im fat because I love food, and its all the wrong foods, basically anything sweet I will eat, and not just one.. I'll eat like 5. I bought these marizpan torte things and I didnt just eat one I ate the whole box in like 2 hours. I just have no self-control on sweets. I am also quite lazy.

My insurance covers LAPBAND, but I need to be approved for it, My doctor sent a letter to the insurance, but I'm not if what he did was right, what do you normally send into the insurance?

Does GNC have samples of Isopure? They have a lot of flavors, but I dont wanna get stuck with a bulk of the flavor I just happen to hate.

I hate exercise too! I have been trying to get healthier before I get banded just to help jumpstart the metabolism, and the one I found I really like is the IN HOME WALKING. I really enjoy it, and its not that long and you really feel like you've exercised, and done something.

If it was up to me, I'd be doing it right now. Those of you who went through insurance how long did you have to wait to have it done?

Hey convex. This process is very strenuous, but don't be worried about a psych evaluation. Just be natural. I dont have to have one, but if I did I would just answer the questions as naturally as possible and just tell them that you want this surgery to be healthy. Just be you. We're all here for you.

PT - Hope to see you at the seminar as well! It will be great to chat with you, I'll be the young girl with dark cherry red hair and probably my pink converse shoes! Step - I'm so excited. I just went to my doctor and he submitted everything we think we needed to submit and I'm calling the insurance to make sure we did it right. You just reminded me I should collect all my diet info.. even the hypnotist I went to.. boy that was a waste lol! How are you doing with everything have you been to your seminar yet?

I have not been banded yet, but I was wondering about after I am banded, would Weight Loss Smoothies from Jamba Juice be a good or bad idea? I love having smoothie in the morning, because smoothies keep me full 'til lunch and I'm always on the go in the morning, and I will probably keep drinking my one smoothie in the morning even after surgery thats why I was wondering if I should go with the Weight Loss ones?? Thanks!!

This really makes me nervous about getting the band!

Lap - My insurance says I have to have the 6month supervised diet from my PCP, but I've been on Weight Watchers since I was 15, my doctor knows this, but I have no medical records of going to WW.

I am going to see my PCP on Monday to discuss the Lapband further and start my journey to get one, what types of questions should I have prepared for him? Thanks guys.

I know exactly what you mean Goodtimes. I have to think of this as long haul, not a race. Its just so exciting to think I will have this wonderful tool, soon in my life.

I would definitly love to have someone to keep up with. It would be great, cause we are both on the same steps and it would be great support. =]

Hey Im just really starting too. I looked into it before, but my insurance didn't carry it then. now it does and I am going to the seminar next week, which the surgeons office told me was the first big step. I would like to have my surgery late March as well. Just in time to start losing weight for summer. =)

I am so thrilled that my insurance (BCBS AL) now covers the lapband! I just had a couple of questions for people out there who have been approved by insurance.. 1) They said it would take up to 30days to approve me, did it really take that long for people or did it take longer? 2) How long after you were approved were you able to get the surgery. I feel like a little kid waiting to find out when I'll finally be able to get the surgery. I have been overweight all my life, and have been on weight watchers since I was 15 and have played with losing 5-10lb. I need a change and I am ready for that change. I want to start my new fabulous life.
