During healing it is imparative to follow the plan some folks have gotten food caught between incistions fr eating certain foods to early Pps b careful whatever u are wanting is not worth a trip to hospital. 6. I was also sleeved on the 29th of october. I was on protein drinks from 10/15 - 11/15. I have been on mushie foods (yougart, eggs, cheese, refried beans, canned tuna, chicken, salmon and string cheese and sliced cheese. I feel your pain. Initially when I began to introduce my belly to food it was unhappy. My stomach griped and had issues. Today is my 5th day on mushie foods and my stomach is ok, but when you eat to much, to fast it will let you know. I also started my vitamins when I started. While on protein drinks I felt the same way. Once you get on food it will be better, but know this there is a new sheriff in town called your new belly. lol U are doing fine.

    Sleeved On Thursday 11/15!

First I would like to say congrats. The for me was minimal i was sleeved 10/29 and today I am just now feeling myself. I allowed myself no activity until after my post op doc appointment which was the 7th and he only cleared me to drive. He said about 3 mos. post op for certain activity please check with your doc. The only advice I have do not rush it, take your time and rest so when you do return to your life you will be healthy and strong. Good luck
  11. This sounds scary to me, my doc does not allow any of his patients to have food after surgery for 2 weeks just shakes, broth, popcycles. He says that YOU MUST give your stomach time to heal, if a small grain or anything get caught in between the sutures it is a major problem pls, pls be careful. This is no joke
  12. Hi everyone I have been on the sight for some time recently found the group. I am 11 days post op. I am enjoying my journey. Although there are hills and valleys, I am amazed that there are not more people in the group. Does anyone know why that is? I would like to hear your experiences and challenges. I believe being in gage in conversation is essential to growth, knowledge and success.

    3 Days Post Op

I am 11 days post op my advice to you dont be in a hurry, allow yourself to heal, each day gets better and better, listen to the signals your stomach will give. My post op diet is protein shakes. So I just learned that my shakes go down without my tummy gripping if i drink 4oz at a time instead of 8 oz. Go figure I had to go through 7 days b4 knowing that. Anyway dont be concerned about the weight loss be more concerned about healing do everything they tell you especially walk. Walk around the house, or short distance at first then longer dont push yourself go at your own pace. But you have to walk to get some of the air out and it will make that pain in your shoulder go away. Good luck
  14. I was sleeved 10/29 @ 3:00pm. Let me say two weeks prior to surgery I was placed on protein drinks for two weeks. Let me also say I have done everything by the book. My pre op weight 351 surgery date weighed 347 (I know not much lost). Surgery went extremely well, removed a herna, stayed in hospital two days, could have gone the day after, I figured I would stay one more night no problem. My doc requires you to stay on protein drink 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. No big deal not hungry anyway, no pain, peeing not frequent but i know my kidney is working no pain meds, sip sip sip I go, walking and drinking 64oz of water ( last three days) feeling good. I began to notice swelling around ankles and thighes when i go to bed they go down. Well today 11/7 is my first post op doc appt I get on scale "GAINED 13lbs". OK I say to self how could u gain 13 lbs without eating, even before surgery I did not accomplish that and I was eating food. So my doc is saying how great I look etc etc. Then he said how much did u loose? I said NONE I GAIN. Then I said are u sure you did the procedure?? He said yes. He said that I had a lot of fluids during surgery and I keep drinking. So he gave me 10 days of water pills, he also made me get a blood test to check my kidney. I see him again on 11/30. I had tell this story I had not heard it before. I don't weight myself so I had no idea how much I gain, my ankles swelling would happen sometime prior to surgery (not enough to call it normal) . So I was not upset about the weight, because I followed the rules. I know my kidneys are fine and the water pills will remove the excess water. I said thank you God if I had to have a complication, i am glad it was this. Just wanted to share, I feel great and all will be well to b continued. Stay tune for 11/30 update. Give your thoughts.

    Bcbs

I hve bcbs and had surgery on 10/29 bcbs I got thief policy and there were revisions to the policy. As a matter of fact bcbs approves faster than any insurance I seen on the boards.
  21. R u scheduled b4 year end? If so go ahead with surgery. By law a company cannot demand a 30 day notice if your surgery is medically needed. Good luck
