You are the only one who can decide what is best for you. I had a bmi of 36 however I also have a fatty liver, high triglycerides, and a recent diagnosis of diabetes. The diabetes was the final straw for me. Some of my closest friends tried to talk me out of the surgery. I am now 1 month out, I look and feel so much better than I did before. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Stay strong!!

The sweet potatoes are good too!

I have capital BC/BS. I had regular bloodwork, gallbladder US and h pylori test. Mine came out positive. The cure for that sucks.

Did you vomit? Ovarian area? Have you had a recent bowel movement?

Fear is normal. The worst part is the first few days post op and it is the gas pains. I suggest walking ALOT and a heating pad also helped. I have no regrets. Good luck!

Is it at your incision site?

I LOVE DR HARRISON!! He is so down to earth and absolutely great!!

I felt like getting up and leaving right up until they took me into surgery! Your feelings are normal. I was sleeved 3-19-13. I am glad I did it. Good luck!!

Well I had my first cheat day ' date=' 3 weeks post op. I went to lowes and i noticed that they put up a new yo go factory. To make a long story shot I had a 1/2 cup of Peanut Butter butter flavored frozen yogart . The worst part was I wanted to get plain but they were all out. I had no toppings and I only ate 2 /3 of it. I am feeling a little guilty but a part of me feels good because it made me feel normal and I was able to control my in take.Any thoughts on this ?[/quote']You had 2/3 of a half cup. Yogurt has Protein. The carbs may not have been great but how much could you eat before?

I can't wait to have a piece of pizza. It is one of my favorite foods. I actually had a craving for cheese fries a few days ago. I had about 4 then stopped. I took the rest to go for my boyfriend. As I carried the container out I thought , wow, this is heavy. I used to be able to eat this. Yuck, what was I thinking!! I am now free of cheese fries perhaps forever!!

When I had my 2 week postop they said it was the healing process. It is now gone. Yay!!

Do you have any comorbidities? If you have high triglycerides, diabetes, high blood pressure etc, explain to your doctor that you need to live a healthier lifestyle. This is a step in that direction. Good luck.

I think alot of it is stress. I started my pre op and quit smoking on the same day. Now' date=' when I'm stressed.. What can I do? I can't smoke. I can't eat my feelings. Not saying these are necessarily bad things, but I'm sooooo overwhelmed. And I just feel lost. I feel like I'm resenting the surgery. I want to be healthy, and of course want to be shinny and dress cute and be able to play with my girls.. But 3 years from now.. I'm gonna want some birthday cake on my husbands birthday.. Or a soda.. Or whatever. Idk.. Just depressed.[/quote']
You will be able to have cake on birthdays, just less! Take a bite and be done with it! As long as you eat enough Protein and make smart food choices most of the time, a bite of something wont poison you. Turn your negatives into positives! I can eat right, feel better, look amazing and have a bite of that. Woo hoo!!

To all of you April Sleevers, stay strong! It is normal to be scared of the unknown. While waiting in preop I had thoughts of what am I doing! I had surgery on 3/19. I am starting on eggs and other soft stuff and realizing this is so worth it! I will be able to eat normal foods again just less. It is about making good food choices. I am SO happy I did this for myself.

I am from Allentown as well. My surgeon was Dr Harrison at Lehigh Valley Hospital. I was sleeved 3-19. When I woke up in recovery the first thing they said was "happy birthday to the new you"! The OR and recovery staff were great.
-
I was having crazy thoughts too probably until they said we are ready and off to the OR I went. I honestly dont remember anything after that until I woke up in recovery! It is so worth it! I was sleeved 3/19/13 and am so happy I did it. Stay strong!!

Glad to hear it is something normal. I had all kinds of crazy thoughts. Thank you!!

Try ground up chicken breast or 95% lean beef grounded up. It packs a lot of Protein. cheese sticks are good also. I have also found lightly salted dry roasted edamame is good!
