  7. I just went to a seminar at a hospital nearby, hoping the insurance person could help me find some insurance. She told me about www.pcip.gov.
  8. I suggest donuts, pasta and ice cream. Can you eat some for me?
  9. NDN_RN, If I were to call my VA, who would I talk to to find out who does our surgery? I know the VA's in Tenn. do not do them. Also, my husband has insurance for the family but it does not cover WLS. Do you think I can still get it through the VA?
  10. IMBORDELON, can you please tell me what kind of Bariatric surgery BSBC of Rhode Island covers? My husband is looking into a trucking job that has that insurance. What else can you tell me about it, if you don't mind. How many months of supervised diet did you have do? Did you have to show so many years of being obese? Thank you for you help! Jessica

  12. I have been researching the hell out of this myself. I have 30% service-connected, go to the VA Murfreesboro, TN. You qualify for BMI for sure. You have to ask you PCP (Primary Care Physician) to be refered to the MOVE program. You must be apart of the MOVE program for 6 month and prove that you are going to try. I think they require a 5% weightloss during the 6 months. Depending on your doctor and the MOVE people you may get your surgery right after you "graduate". There are only 12 VA hospitals that perform the surgery and one is the VA Medical center in Charleston, S.C. Not sure what any of the others are. I have an appt. on the 20th and will ask to be put in the MOVE program and for the surgery. Fingers crossed!
  13. Hi Ladies! My name is Jessica and I am also from Murfreesboro. I am going to see my reg. doctor on the 20th of Sept. to get the ball rolling. I go to the VA and I am hoping the cover the sleeve. If not I will have to get the Gastric Bypass.
