That's a good idea : )

Luu, Honesty - unvarnished and direct ... Awesome! So keeping in that vein my suggestion is: GET OVER IT! You don't have to Like it you just have to Do it ; ) I recently saw this Tee online and was reminded of it when I read your post But really ... I suggest you do group fitness like - Yoga, Zumba, Bootcamp, LA Boxing, Spin etc.. It still sucks but the feeling of accomplishment is great and the added accountability and new friendships is a bonus : ) Good luck - stay "real" I love it ! Lee

Hi and congrats on what sounds like a consistent strategy with lots of effort : ) those two items puts you on the path to Victory! I suggest you purchase and use a heart rate monitor. The polar is a good brand and works with many treadmills and ellipticals as an added bonus. The FT 7 is a great choice and $78 on Amazon. The REASON you want one is because it will help you know the INTENSITY level at which you are working - this is critical not only to the weight loss of the workout session but to how it moves your metabolic rate and calorie "burn" through the day when not working out. It will also help keep you safe - so you don't push past the point you should, as ULTIMATELY the race goes to the tortoise not the hare - consistency will always win out. But there is no reason not to maximize your time by taking advantage of HR training : ) Knowing the best tools and techniques - especially for obese people to workout is key.... After all, you can dig a hole with a screw driver but it goes lots faster with a shovel : ) Hope in Your Future is Power in Your Present! Grapefruit juice 9 days post op
LJCBF replied to anniearrr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Grapefruit juice is known to interact negatively with several types of meds. So based on meds you take it may be out - or they may eliminate it as policy to prevent having to vet it against each patients meds. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/food-and-nutrition/AN00413 ADDITIONALLY, fruit juice is FULL of sugar and therefore evil. Worse than bottle of coke. Lee -

Keys to not getting stuck: 1- Buy tiny spoon n fork set for baby - always use carry with you - work restaurants everything (do this first year) 2- When you eat ONLY eat / don't watch tv or talk to people just eat. Of course SLOWLY / wait 45-60 seconds every two bites. (Do this first 6 months) 3- NEVER DRINK WATER IF STUCK ... Drink vey little if all during eating. 4- GO especially slow in the morning. I usually drink a shake. 5- Learn the food that causes you problems - for me this is fibrous items - like shrimp - lobster etc.. Stuck or not stuck - your problems are "better"'than before... food coma and acid reflux and you are now on the path to FREEDOM! Lee -

Tomorrow you take the first step into Freedom! Congrats on your courage : ) start walking immediately - listen to your doc AND Clean out kitchen and cabinets if everything - toss it if its not on the food list. Last thing ... Buy a tiny plastic "baby" fork n spoon, like at Target Walmart and little plates - I used them a lot and literally the spoon and fork ALL THE TIME for the first year - really helped.
