  1. Finally got to have some non-liquids today!!! I started easy with some refried beans my hubby doctored up to taste AMAZING! then I had two slices of a peach without the skin. Felt pretty satisfied after that little bit. Feeling good and glad to be eating instead of drinking I also met my first scale goal. Ten pounds by the end of the 9 day liquid phase. Woot woot! No regrets so far!

I was nervous before my surgery too. But it was easy. The pain and gas are bearble. Remember that you got this far and you're hungry...it's really amazing to be able to go a day in 500 cal and not feel hungry. It is definitely worth it! Good luck!!

    Gas Pain :(

I'm day 9 post. I have found that walking and drinking water is the most helpful. Gas-x works for short periods. And having those BMs is great lol

Post Off Day 5 Days So Bloated!

I'm day 7 and also went back to work feeling bloated. Luckily I get to walk around my classroom. The walking helped A LOT. I'm thinking I need to go walk for 15-20 min before work tomorrow SO I can feel less bloated.

    Starving And Sad...

I got banded the same day. I puréed some panera broccoli cheddar soup and it was delicious! If you have a restaurant nearby go get some yummy soup and just purée it so it has the necessary consistancy. It was pretty filling too!

    Day 4 N In Pain..

It gets better. I'm on day 6, still sore but mostly back to normal. I switched to Tylenol and Advil and started feeling so much better. The pain meds made me so drowsy and nauseous. Those little ones will give you the strength to keep going. They have a way of lifting our spirits. Good luck!

You are an inspiration to those of us who just started. That tux is going to look AMAZING!!
  11. Hi all, I'm 5 day post op and have an itchy rash on my stomach. I'm thinking it might be from the heat and wearing the binder. Anyone else have this? I put some Benadryl cream on it yesterday carefully avoiding the sutures which helped a little.

    20 Lbs Down!

    That's amazing!! Congrats!
  13. I was banded tuesday. I'm drinking only clear liquids till tomorrow. I was able to lie on my side a little when I put a pillow under my stomach and I had to wear the binder. If you're taking the pain killers that is probably why you're so tired. I stopped taking them and am only on Tylenol. Not to mention the anesthesia sometimes lingers in our system and keeps us feeling drowsy.

    Day Two-Post Op

Glad you're doing so great! I'm feeling better as the day goes on.
  15. Posting for my fellow sept bandsters. Had my surgery yesterday. I was surprisingly calm going in. Last thing I remember before waking up in recovery is looking at the lights wondering if the anesthesia is gonna kick in. Lol. I was in recovery for over three hours. I just couldn't wake up. I threw up twice from the ice chips and Water. I think the anesthesia and pain killers make me nauseous. The pain is bearable today but I didn't sleep well last night. I couldn't get comfortable and I kept having to go pee. The abdominal binder is very helpful, so wear it! I was able to get the acid blocker pill and some Advil down. That was a relief I was afraid they were going to get stuck. I'm not feeling hungry at all. I've been drinking mostly water but have had some Vitamin water zero and a little Protein water. I'm thinking some warm broth might be nice soon.
  16. I posted a new thread under post-op for fellow sept bandsters. Had my surgery yesterday. I'm uncomfortable but doing ok.
  17. I am scheduled to get banded Sept 4th. I have my pre-op appointments on tuesday August 28th. So far I have no idea if I will have a pre-op diet. I'm hoping not I'm excited, but also nervous. This is going to be a HUGE change. It will be nice to have support from those going through the same thing.
