  1. Lol! I remember being a small child and overhearing my step mom trying to convince my dad to go to a nudist camp. The thought scarred me for a while! Now, who knows, once I shed this weight maybe I'll be the one convincing the boyfriend to go! Haha Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

    Hello From Texas!

I'm pretty close to you, Theboysmom. I'm in Webster! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  3. I'm assuming that since you're not happy with yourself, that like me, it limits you sexually. If it's with the right person, sex is very good for you AND your relationship. That's one thing that I can't wait for, to be happy being nude again. Lol. Losing weight will give us so much! Better health, better examples for our children, smaller clothes = cheaper clothes, better self image, more self confidence. Anyways, if ya'll are sexually active and you can't get him to listen any other way, he's sure to listen about how ya'lls sex life could change, huh? Lol. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  4. Once upon a time I had a hot bod. I was into the same body type as I am now. I prefer larger men. Lol. My boyfriend is 6'3'' and about 260 lbs. The difference is that now I like NICE MEN, whereas then I liked immature, inconsiderate, lying, cheating assholes. (yes, I said this with anger and a few faces popped in my head) Lol. If he thinks that you'll leave him because you lose weight then he needs to reevaluate things and not let you being heavier be the only reason you're around right now! My honey knows that he keeps me around not because I think that he's all I can get because I'm overweight, but because he's amazing to me, for me, we have a good time, and he treats me very well, not to mention all that he does for my daughter, who isn't his own blood. I hope he can say half that about me. Regardless if I lose weight, I'll be with him because of those things. I kind of lost track of my point here, I'm half asleep (or half awake. =P) I remember seeing you post on one of my posts and I'm glad to hear that you got approved just as quickly as myself with no pre requirements! Consider us lucky, I've heard that doesn't happen often! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  5. I haven't gotten my date yet, waiting for them to call me. But I feel like I'm getting cold feet! I KNOW I want to do this! I'm on day two of the pre op diet. I was so hungry today, maybe that's why I'm feeling this way. I'm guessing it's normal, but all I can think about is loose skin and scars. Seems small compared to the bigger picture, I know. I know I'm not going to back down, I guess that I'm just kind of hoping for a pick me up from you guys! Lol. I don't personally know anyone with lapband already. Any recommendations on preventing loose skin and scar treatment cream? I shouldn't really gripe about the scars, it could be worse and the images I've seen of other people's scars really aren't that bad, if not faded completely. My stretch marks on my midsection from pregnancy almost 3 years ago, although faded already, will surely top these small incisions, right? I'm only 23, I have a lot of living ahead of me. I sure hope I get out of this without needing (too much) plastic surgery. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

    Freaking Out!

Lucky you, Sandman! They did tell me that my surgeon does the standard 3 or 4 tiny incisions and the 1 slightly larger one. That'd be pretty cool if he'd do just one though! Haha Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

    Freaking Out!

I know I know! My health, especially with the route it's going right now, is priority! I just have too much time to think about all of the small things that I'm sure won't matter once I see 1something on the scale again! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

    Freaking Out!

Wow, that's a lot! I bet you feel oh so relieved?! Don't you go blowing away on us now! I'm glad to hear about the scars! I'm looking to lose no more than 90. I'm currently 235, would love to see 160. I'm tall, 5'9'', so that's pretty thin for my height. From what I remember, I enjoyed my body even at 170. Maybe I'll get lucky and have very little loose skin. I'd like another child someday, so plastic surgery is out for now, it'd be a waste before pregnancy, but I guess since I'm not above surgery to lose the weight then I won't be above surgery to fine tune it, huh? Lol! Congratulations on all your weight loss! Every success story that I've read is truly an inspiration for me! I've been here less than a week and I feel like I know most of you guys already! Hello From Texas!

Welcome! I haven't gotten my band yet, but everything is ready and I've started the diet, just waiting for my slow Hematologist to get back to my surgeon for medical clearance then Surgeon's appointment and surgery shortly after! Eeep! I wish you a speedy approval! I'm in Webster, Texas. It's right outside of Houston. =) Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  12. My goodness! If you can make it through that without the band, then I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine with it! Good luck tomorrow! I'll be watching for updates! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

Yayyy! I like seeing more people with Dr. Reilly! I couldn't find any reviews on him until I got on here! I was scared of having him as my surgeon at first, but now not so much! =) Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  15. @a1990 Good luck! My insurance went through really fast! They did really well! I wish you a speedy approval as well! @kman What an awesome Christmas present last year, huh?! Haha. I love them so far! @kitty I'm in Webster! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  16. I had my tests today, but I have to wait for my Hematologist to send over my medical clearance because of a Pulmonary Embolism I had in April! Ugh! Hopefully they sent it over when I called earlier! Did you start your pre op diet yet, @a1990? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  17. Ew! I don't have to do a liquid diet. I'm on 2 Protein shakes a day and 1 meal (8oz lean meat, 1cup veggies, and 1 cup fruit). I hope the liquid post op isn't too bad. Lol Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  18. Congrats! I can't wait for mine! I'll have a date tomorrow! Eeek! Are you nervous?! Let me know how everything goes!

Congrats you guys! @Lassie, that's awesome! I'm looking forward to the health change, but oh man the small things are all I can think about! Less chafing on my thighs! Haha Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  21. Congratulations! That's so exciting! I already can't sleep well because I'm so anxious! I'll be going to Memorial Herman and my surgeon is Dr. Christopher Reilly. I'm reallllly hoping they can do it the Friday the 7th, just because it'd be easier for my boyfriend to be with me and my mom to take my daughter for the weekend, as I have to stay in the hospital 2 days because of my blood clot in April and my Insurance requires 1 night. What Type Of Birth Control Do You Use?

Unfortunately, I can't ever use a hormonal birth control ever again. Not to scare any of you, but I'm going through a lawsuit against Nuvaring right now for a Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot in your lungs) that I got back in April. I have to be on blood thinners until at least Halloween (6 months) and it's very possible that I have to stay on them longer. Doctors did testing and their final conclusion was that it's the Nuvaring and there was no other reason that I'd get a PE at 22 (23 now) So, my only option is Paraguard. It's an IUD like Mirena except it's just copper and makes an unsafe living environment for sperm. No hormones. My insurance won't pay for it even though it's a medical need (can't get pregnant on my blood thinners, it's very dangerous, and it's the only birthday control I can take) so that sucks. I hope those of you on Nuvaring have better luck than I did. I was on it six months. I miss it. Haha. It was so convenient and easy and not to mention it kept my hormones in check! =( Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  24. Awesome! In Houston or somewhere else?

    Dating Preference

I'm with @Lapbandster on this one. Even when I was 80lbs lighter I still preferred a bigger man. My boyfriend is 6'3'' and about 260 and he's super sexy to me! I've dated smaller guys and my ex husband is even a bodybuilder (4 hours/day in the gym. No joke. It's ridiculous!) but none of them get me going like my baby does! He's also my first (and hopefully last!) "nice guy". I've always gone for bad boys! So over that! 8 months and going strong! So, bottom line, no, I know my preference won't change. I could see it changing for other people though! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
