  1. I'm March 4th and am not required to do any preop diet/changes. I've been doing changes on my own though!! I'm getting excited!!! 15 more sleeps!!! . I've been doing a protein shake every day, started taking Biotin (my hair goes down to my butt and I don't want to lose it), and I've been completely off pop for almost 6 weeks!! I'm pretty much just working for the next couple weeks!!
  2. I know I mentioned this earlier... But here it is again The Oband center is having a support group meeting at 5pm today. Anyone else going?
  3. I knew someone that did a colon cleanse and lost like 12-15....
  4. I was the same way with Mountain Dew. I quit drinking it before Christmas in preparation of the surgery. How did I do it? I decided one day that it was my last one. I knew I needed to stop drinking it. It wasn't easy. The cravings are STILL there and I have to be aware of by habits. I drink a lot of water now too and that helps.
  5. Yeah! I feel lucky!! My doc's thoughts are if I can lose X amount of weight in 4 months why do I need surgery?! It works for me!
  6. Although I am making changes on my own. Protein shakes, no pop, vitamins... That kind of thing.
  7. None! No pre op diet or anything.
  8. Me me me!!! Mine is the 4th!! I'm in Las Vegas btw!!
  9. That's kind of what I was thinking. If something happened and you needed a NG tube (in your nose and into your stomach) having a vsg is something I'd like known.
  10. Hi everyone! Being in the medical field my mind automatically goes to post op/emergency medical type complications after surgery. Does any wear/been instructed to wear a medical alert bracelet or necklace? Thanks! Nikki
  11. Congrats!! Our dates will be here before we know it!!
  12. Anyone going to the Oband support group Friday? I was thinking about going....
  13. Awesome!! I can't wait to be there!!
  14. Woohoo! Mine is the 4th!!
  15. I just got my date today!! Match 4th!! I'm so excited!! I can't hardly wait! Three more weeks!!
  16. March 4th is my day! I'm excited! Three more weeks! My pre op is on Wednesday Feb 27!! I'm stoked!! *HAPPY DANCE*
  17. Thanks formerblonde. I haven't had a major freak out yet. I'm not really one to show physical emotion so maybe if/when I do it will be good for me.
  18. The surgery coordinator was out of the office today!! That means I have to wait all weekend to get my date!! Dang it!
  19. 11,000 and that doesn't include dr visits and copays for testing and blood work. My insurance sucks, so the surgeon gave me the cash price of 16,000 and my ins only pays a lifetime max of 5,000 so the rest is up to me!!
  20. Thanks! My appt is at 230 tomorrow and I hope to schedule the first week of March! I will let y'all know!! I am getting excited!! I have noticed a lot more "body issues" now that I know I'm doing something to make myself better. Anyone else notice a spike in lack of self confidence/esteem prior to surgery?
  21. I think it would depend in how you approach them. If you go to them in a professional manner and tell your HR and supervisor at the same time in a closed door setting you might be able to. They can always come back and say you told someone or someone overheard...
  22. 2 more months of nutrition counseling or 2 more months until surgery? I have my appt Friday and should get my date then!
