  1. I am so freaked out right now...I'm only 7 weeks post op and just found out I'm pregnant. I emailed my dr but haven't heard back. I was not planning this at all and we think I may have gotten preggers just before the surgery. I know my dr had me sign something about waiting 18 months...truth is we were done having kids and I never thought this would happen. I just don't know what to do. Any sleeves out there pregnant so soon after surgery? Any input?

  2. What's your goal weight? Those who need to lose less weight generally lose it slower. Just keep working the program.

My goal weight is 160...and I have read that also...I will keep working at it...but it is a little discouraging seeing others that have lost over 30 lbs or more. I just have to remember everyone is different :)

  3. The short answer is yes. It took me 2 months to feel like I could "eat normally" that is eating without feeling like there was a large chunk of food stuck in my throat. I can now comfortably eat 4oz at a time depending on what it is. I measure everything. I get my Protein first then veggies.

I am 5 weeks post op and since last night I've felt like I've got food stuck in my throat....I was fine after I ate dinner, then about an hour later it hit me...how often did this happen to you and how long did it last? I thought for sure by morning the feeling would be gone.

  4. So I am about 5 1/2 weeks post op and I have only lost 23 lbs...beginning to get frustrated. I'm only eating about 800 calories, and I am exercising almost everyday. I started at 241, 239 day of surgery and I'm only at 216 today. Not sure what I'm doing wrong? Anyone else out there losing slowly? Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance :)

  5. Nicole.. I'm hoping I start soon.. I'm over a week late. I'm cramping like crazy though. I woke up very frustrated this this morning because the weight seems to not be coming off. I'm a month out from surgery. And still haven't list 20 pounds yet. Not sure what's going on with all that.

I'm 5 weeks post op and am also about a week late. Freaking out just a little. Lol. I have seemed to be losing very slowly also....maybe retaining Water? I'm not sure what's goin on either...it seems everyone is different. Hopefully you start soon and hit that 20lbs! :)

  6. So... the day after surgery' date=' my first meal was Clear Liquids. My second meal, while in the hospital, was pureed food. I was released to go home. The official "plan" for the second day after surgery is to start soft foods. The next week, I was able to add in other foods. I had chicken four days after my surgery - it was on my food plan. Granted, I didn't have a lot of it. While my plan did say that I could have half a slice of toast two weeks after surgery, I've only just started this.[/quote']

Where was your surgery? I've never heard of purée before 2-3 weeks. :)

  7. Katie AKA NEWBIE ;)

welcome to sleeveland - you are starting on a wonderful lifetime journey to health and happiness :)

am i correct that you have no problem keeping Water down' date=' not vomitting??? then you must drink as much as you can, then push some more fluids

drinking is very important!!!! if you don't drink enough you might become dehydrated - causing you to go to hospital to be rehydrated via IV's. :(

i had to go to the hospital for that, 2 months post op - will never forget the day, 2/14/12 - VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

these early days after WLS, water/liquids are the most important, IF you can get Protein in, you are ahead of the game - but if you are unsuccessful with getting in alot of Protein, for now thats ok - you will be concentrating on protein soon enough, along with the liquid - you've signed up for alot with the sleeve :)

    good luck[/quote']

Thank you so much for that info. :) I am working on it.

  8. I was sleeved 10/31 and just got home today with the worst gas pains and I have this sore on my mouth that wasn't there before surgery...nurse says its a canker sore from stress but I don't think so. I'm going to try gas x and pray that helps with the pains. Cannot pass gas either and I've been walkin with no relief. I felt like I was making a mistake also but I believe we made the right choice. :)
