  1. I have a huge question regarding hernia and scarring from sleeve. I had the sleeve in 2019. I had little to no issue, but I do have severe Gerd/reflux. I get a endoscopy every two years to watch my Barretts Esophagus. the last endo said I had a hiatal hernia, went to a surgeon who says he needed to do a bypass because there is a kink in the stomach. My gastro said to get a second opinion. I went to Doctor # 2 who said he would not do a bypass but a hernia repair with LINX. Doctor #3 who is my bariatric doctor did a barium swallow and said NO to the bypass and to go in and fix the scarring which developed because of the sleeve. Said bypass would be the last resort. He also said I would have Barret's for the rest of my life. Some have said it reversible in the past. ANYONE with these issues? Just so confused why one doctor says one thing and the others said something opposite. Also doctor #3 said he would never use linx for a hernia! OMG the confusion.
  2. I guess we are in the same spot. I actually wasn’t expecting this whirlwind in the last 4 weeks. I just thought I needed hiatal hernia surgery. So now I am getting second and third opinion. I think it just putting life on hold because I wasn’t expecting this and I have a vac planned at the end of October that I can’t reschedule. Sorry this is long winded just don’t have any one to really talk to about this
  3. So you had the sleeve 10 years ago and Now you are going for the sleeve?
  4. Can I ask, why are you having a bypass? Is it the same reason sever reflux or Something else?
  5. Any help will do. Did anyone have sleeve and went to bypass? What were the reasons? Were you happy of the decision? How long recovery? I had a sleeve 6 years ago. I m at a good weight but have issue with food sticking where the staples were(“like a kink) The doctor has recommended sleeve so my food doesn’t get stuck and food goes directly down. However I am nervous as hell. Not sure I want to go down that road again. However my reflux is severe. Getting two more opinions but wanted to come here to see if anyone was similar to me?
  6. I had a lap band in 2012, because of issues throwing up I had it removed and had a sleeve in 2019. Recently I had issues with reflux. I get endoscopy every two years because of reflux. The doctor said I had a hiatal hernia, and to see a surgeon. he suggested having an esophogram. The esophogram showed that I did not have a hiatal hernia. I just had another endoscopy with a reflux recorder. The original doctor said there is a hiatal hernia, but it seems that there is a pocket in my stomach where the food is getting stuck and is now suggesting a gastric bypass. I am at a very healthy weight, so I do not need to lose weight. I am terrified. Anyone had this surgery or symptoms like mine. I do have Barrett's esophagus, so we do not want this to turn into cancer. Thanks Daisy

  15. I think the slower the better! It's a journey and I remember when I was new at this I didn't want to hear that but now I know it's the only way! It's didn't come on over night and I can't take it off over night! Be patient and persistent and it will come off and more importantly stay off! Good luck'
  16. Had a very small fill last Wednesday ! I was good Thursday Friday and Saturday ! Yesterday not to good didn't feel well and couldn't hold much down. Today feeling better but now have minor cramps and and some lower back pain. Not sure if I'm to tight or if I am getting sick. To add to this my sons friend came over last night and must of had the stomach flu because we threw up EVERYWHERE! I have had the band for over a year and I do realize that with me and I am not sure if anyone else feels this way it seems to get a little tighter a week later? Any suggestions?
  17. Today marks one year for me! This time last year I was nervous and excited all at once! I am down almost 60 pounds. It been a very slow and steady pace and I am so ok with that. I'm about 4 pounds from my goal. (I was on the smaller size didn't think I would get approved) besides the scale going downward my NON SCALE VICTORY included great blood work. All my lousy number are down! From cholesterol to sugar to blood pressure! I have a lot more energy ! My clothes fit so much better! I like that I don't have this obsession with food anymore! I'm ok with a small amount! We as American eat entirely to much! Too bad it took me too long to figure it out! Loving the new me!!!!!
  18. I'm from south jersey , would live to talk!!! Had my surgery last December. I am at a stand still but I was on the smaller side and didn't need a lot to lose. Lost about 47, need to loose 15 more! Look and feel a whole lot better than last year!

  24. Cup of food, 1/4 of that should be protein! That's not alot!! But I remember once someone once told me that I ate alot! They weren't trying to be mean but sometimes we need honestly brutal honesty! suffie
  25. I am 4 months post op a and I just got my 2 md fill. I definitely feel it this time. I had two shrimp and I was done. It's kinda a nice feeling! My doctor also told me to eat 6 small meals a day instead of three. Good luck! I would wait and see. How you feel!
