My doc was the one told me I only need 1-2 days off..my boss told me if I want I can go on short term disability but I don't want to unless it's extremely necessary this is a new job and I don't have that much time banked I don't plan on using pain meds... I usually bounce back pretty well I was in full blown labor and worked till the end had a c section and was back at it by the next week

  5. Just got the call...surgery is at 11 am have to be there at 9am...kinda nervous and excited I am just pissed I just worked a 12 hour overnight shift and I was woken up and now I can't sleep

  7. I am a NICU RN and I also work on a an Adult Med Surgical Floor. I am only taking a week off from the NICU and when I go back ill have them give me the babies in open cribs which are easy to push. But I am gonna have him give me light duty for med surg

  10. Hi my surgery date is for October 25th. He hasn't mentioned a pre op diet. Does EVERYONE usually do a pre op diet or all liquid prior to sx??

  12. Man I can't help how happy I am. Just got The call that my band is approved. Mind u this was 1 week and 1 day from submission to the insurance company!! I went to the surgeon Aug 20 and met with the nutritionist same day. Did my ultrasound and blood work that week and met with the psychiatrist on the 27th and submitted to the insurance on the 30th!!!! I love my insurance !! Mind you my insurance just became active Aug 1!! I am covered at 100 %!!! I didn't even have to submit a letter from my doctor. I just submitted records from my pediatrician showing my weight since 2007!! I feel so blessed an like I won the lottery

  16. Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I am currently 243 pounds and I am 5'5 1/2 feet tall. I decided on lapband surgery as the next step in my weight loss journey. I am an RN and currently qualcare. My surgery is eligible is covered at 100 percent. Also, according to the insurance coordinator at my surgeons office my insurance is the Easiest to receive approval for!!! So I did all the pre-op testing (Bloodwork, venous Doppler, psy eval).. So I am asking for some good luck to Be sent my way.... I should find out this week !!!
