  1. I'm in TX, great surgeon quoted 18,000 but paid upfront so they gave a discount at 14,000 with hospital stay and everything included
  2. I think you should do whatever you are comfortable with and I wish you the best of luck on your journey ahead! If people ask, you can always say it was time to make a change and eat better! It's the truth but not too much detail!

  4. Oh Sannah I'm so sorry you're having problems with this I hope everything is smooth sailing from here on out
  5. "it works" makes this lotion that firms and takes stretch marks away, I love it!
  6. Sleeved on the 22nd, close enough! Let's see I lost a pound a day for a week after surgery then hit a stall. I am only down 11 since surgery BUT during the stall I dropped 2 pant sizes and have gone from 44 to a 38 in the bra department so there at least was some change when the scale wasn't moving! I am eating soft foods at this point... I haven't been getting in enough protein and am working on fluids! I'm also finally getting energy back!
  7. Had my stall a week after surgery, it broke today so almost 2 weeks stalled. My doc said to eat more and see if that helped and it worked for me!
  8. I was sleeved oct 22 and stalled one week later and it let up today! My doc told me to eat more to break the stall, I did and it worked. He said to look at the amount of calories i was consuming, there was no way that the 500-600 cal/day was enough for me to gain and it was no fault of my own that I wasn't losing! Everyone has these from what I have seen, good luck!
  9. Dr. McKinney with mother Francis, sleeves on oct 22! How about you?
  10. Congrats!! Where in East Tx if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Tyler
  11. I experience this last week as well! Go us!!
  12. My doc says it takes 18 months for your stomach to be completely healed and the further you get from your surgery the more you are able to eat. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and can stomach about 3 ounces at a time but eventually it will be 1 cup and then 1 1/2 cups. It's not that your stomach is "stretching" it's just that it's settling into the new groove of things!
  13. I am so glad I found this thread!! I was sleeved oct 22 and have lost 7 pounds so far, only 7??? And everyone else I see with the same day is talking about how happy they are at 20 + pounds down! I decided to get a friend to hide my scale from me do I will stop obsessing and getting depressed about it! I thought I wa the only one but I'm glad to see other people in similar situations
  14. I am only 20 and got sleeved on the 22nd. I absolutely think that it should be encouraged at a younger age. I had heard about wls when I was 16, and I think when you are so young you're afraid to be judged by your peers. I am so happy to get this done early to enjoy the rest of my life being healthy
  15. There are several with your name on fb, send me a friend request, Whitney Lade, and I will add you to the group!
  16. I got sleeved oct 22, originally told my boss I needed at least one week off. Was sleeved on a monday, came back the next Tuesday. On Wednesday I was very nauseous and weak, had to leave early and take the next day off too. I had unrealistic expectations about recovery, I think. I've had a much harder time than I expected, but I expected i would be good as new in about a week so that is pretty unrealistic haha. Everyone is different, some have no problem going back in a week while I on the other hand have really struggled. Just listen to your body and take it easy. Congrats on this new adventure!
  17. My first few days were like that too! Don't worry though, youve got a week and a half still! I did a 7 day and my day of surgery I was down 13 pounds. I was freaking out too, I would weigh myself on two different scales to see if they read the same, which they did, but the doctors scale weighed me at 5 lbs less than my own! Talk about unwanted stress. Speaking of, calm yourself down- my doc says major stress can influence weight loss. You will do great!
  18. Hahaha I laughed out loud at that^
  19. Mine is on my right! It's about 2 inches long, if that. 5 incisions total, all others less than an inch!
  20. I would be over the moon in a 10/12! I too am tall (5'10) and I've always been big so I'm interested to see what the heck I'll even look like that small!
  21. send me an email and I'll add you! Whitney Lade
  22. Dont worry you'll do great! I had mine Monday and the only thing I'm dealing with is minimal soreness at the incision sites. I'm sure you've been told this by everyone on here but after surgery, walk as soon as possible! As soon as they put me in my room I got up and walked down the hall, then walked 2 more times that day and had no gas pains whatsoever! The pain is not so bad and they pump you full of painkillers you're asleep most of the time anyways! Good luck everyone, this is going to be so worth it!
  23. I just had EKG and bloodwork, then 10 day liquid protein shakes, 1 day clears to reduce the size of my liver
