  1. Water is boring and I was asking seriously so if you have nothing to add then don't. I am a little over 3 weeks post op. and I am having my annual party at my tiki bar next week.

You might have noticed how these overly sensitive perfect people on here tried to rip me a new one becuz I said I had my 1st drink @ 3 weeks..and I will say again I had my cocktails already..worked out next day..no weight gain..5 weeks out and still have my cocktails and lost 13 lbs from week 3 to week 5..I say do you! Sip slow and I'll suggest u have something on the rocks!! These people on here can be so judgmental I'm not peeping thru your window when u take a bite of a ham sandwich b4 u reach 6 weeks so don't a girl and her cocktails....POW! And in that order...drops the mic!!

  2. Everyone's body tends to have a different tolerance level for alcohol. What is important to remember is when we drink' date=' we do responsibly and with an understanding of our bodies limitations. If we know we plan on drinking in excess, then as responsible adults we should have a plan in place prior to doing so for safe transportation home.

I agree with u 100% thanks it seems like u knew what I was trying to say..

  3. Actually you said you had two which took two hours to drink which would still leave their effects in your system. Though you of course didn't know that because they were your first drink since being sleeved.

Btw' date=' bellinis are made from wine. At cheap drive through shops, very cheap wine (sparkling wine or champagne). At three weeks drinking carbonation is foolish at best, but when it comes to testing your ability, testing it with a liquor which goes to your head naturally faster than other types of wine compounds your mistakes. You can not request a lower alchaol Bellini. They are pure sparkling wine over a little fruit juice, typically peach. Saying you had a light Bellini is like saying you had a light martini. It's kinda like being sorta pregnant.

When you attempt to argue your drink of choice my dear...know what the hell you are drinking.

And yes to be clear I am judging you and it's coming out badly. You sound just like the gal who killed my friend. You aren't drinking responsibly. You're just lucky.[/quote']

Take a chill pill seems you taking things to the extreme! Once again it's a discussion forum not a confessional with the pope and even he can't judge. Relax, relate, release..(dropping the mic)

  4. Just FYI Long Islands are loaded with calories. You can Google all sorts of lists to find the highest and lowest calorie drinks' date=' and ways to make drinks with less calories.

Point being is that most of us wont have trouble losing at first. Losing most of the excess and keeping off what is lost after a year or two is the big reason they emphasize changing habits, like counting calories and cutting out excess "unnecessary" calories, like cutting out booze.

I wont live without booze, but I am less likely to drink more than one beer once or twice a month. If I want to get a buzz, which is rarer as I get older, guess I'll have to throw a diet shot or two on top of it.[/quote']

Yea it's a low callong island $295 call with crystal lite mango tea w/lemon

  5. I'm sorry but three weeks is rushing it by any doctors standards.

In high school my friend and I were hit by a driver who felt they never drank more than they could handle to be able to drive responsibly. I was lucky to get tossed to the side. Bonnie died crushed between the car and a guard rail. It wasn't a quick death. The woman who killed her seemed quite lucid as she walked away from the accident. Justify it all you wish but next time do it with the image of a 16 year old girl begging for her parents and vomiting blood for ten mins before she finally died.

This is a forum for open discussion not a judgment zone..yes I had me a cocktail and no need to justify anything to anyone becuz I'm a grown a$$ women. people like u that other people talk about in other forums. People can't have an open discussion with out the opinions of others..enjoy ur wine sweetheart and I will enjoy my ballini's (which is not as strong as your wine)!

  6. Wow some of you are drinking really early (and driving? Not the best way to see how they effect you!).

I am a rather serious wine collector and would never have had the surgery if no wine was allowed again. I'd rather be fat :).

My doc insists two months off because even if you can't feel it' date=' it can be irritating to your staple line. He suggests strong moderation until you have lost your weight because it is empty calories. And then champs only after six months in moderation because the carbonization isn't good for you.

He also strongly advised me to practice in the safety of my own home to see how it effects me. And never never to drive right after a drink because it does absorb differently. If you are lucky you will only kill yourself that way. Unfortunately bystanders are normally the unlucky parties in that situation.[/quote']

A drink can me made at different levels. I had to have my cocktail post surgery so I know what I can handle. I can't drink like I use to but I know my body and what I can tolerate. My Dr specific instructions was to not rush it...BTW when I drink and drive its responsibly i lost my fiancée to a drunk driver. Trust I'm not drinking then getting right on the road..to each it's own everyone Dr is different.

  7. I had my 1st drink 3wks out-2 small peach ballini at a drive thru daiquiri shop. It took 2 hours to drink each one but I felt fine. Was able to drive home w/no headaches, and no hangovers. I also have tried long island teas but feel fine after 1. I do request they not making as strong..also the scale shoes no weight gain

  8. I maintain my earlier opinion of nonsense. The small study you link indicates that out of 2000 bariatric patients' date=' 7% showed alcohol addiction risk pre surgery and 10% showed alcohol addiction risk post surgery. That indicates a potential risk of 3% NOT the "30% of sleeve patients develop cross over addictions" that you said your NUT told you.

There has been NO comprehensive research into cross over addiction post VSG. I consider any professional who spouts random statistics like your NUT did to be unprofessional scaremongerers.

In addition, the study focuses on bypass patients who metabolise alcohol very different to sleeve patients.[/quote']

I agree...I can drink 2 long islands and feel fine no headache, no weight gain, etc...and I'm 5weeks out
