  1. I was sleeved Oct 6th! I used to use lose it but felt like an outcast, so I joined mfp. User name is tiachristian87...my food diary is public too.
  2. Omg...that should not be allowed. Showing averages and what you should hope to lose each month is setting people up for failure. I'm 4ft 8in and I started at 260 the day of surgery. I'm almost 4 weeks post op and according to the chart should have lost 32. Well I've lost a whopping 13...do I wish it was more? Yes but I'm a part of the slow losers club so far. I will get there but it may take longer. Please kick this chart out of your head at least for comparison purposes.
  3. Neither my fiance nor I had one and I was sleeved in Tijuana on Oct 6th. We didn't even have to go to second inspection...even though the driver was positive we would have to. He looked at our documents, verified our citizenship and bid us good day...less than 3 minutes. That being said, I have heard they can make wait at inspection until they prove citizenship ( which can take up to 2 hours). I started to apply for passports but moved my surgery date up from December and refused to pay $400 for 3 day expedite fee.

    Left Shoulder Pain

I get this a lot. The doctor said it was trapped gas but personally I think mine is related to digestive gas. Usually I push on the area, apply a heating pad and move myself around. I also pray no one is listening because its about to get loud. There's nerves by the stomach that cause referred pain to the shoulder. If you feel like crap or the pain doesn't ease up call the surgeon ASAP.
  5. I feel fine. A little tired but it was my first day back at work. No nausea. I've slimmed twice in the past week but nothing too weird. No fever...get hot flashes but no temperature change.

    Intimacy

LOL...well the doctors assistant seemed to think it was alright. I bounced back from surgery and we don't get much time away from our 3 year old.

Oh geez I'm gonna look like a harlot...I had surgery in Mexico, so we were in a nice hotel. One thing led to another and it was only 3 days after surgery and no issues.

    Incision Infected?

2 of mine were kinda gooey, so I went to my PCP. She said the biggest signs are redness around the incisions, the skin would feel warmer and the area would he harder than the other incisions. If you push on the area around it, pus will come out. I couldn't get mine to scab up but then found out I was taking too long of a shower and the small scab kept getting weaker. She did give me antibiotics if its not better by Friday...

    Infected Incisions?

Thank you for the replies! Dr said they actually look good but gave me a prescription for antibiotics if its not better in 3 days. I've been on way way too many antibiotics in the last 5 years, so we're being cautious about when I take them.
  10. Well I was feelikng like recovery was going too well and now...my insicions are goey. I've been washing my whole abdomen with hibiclens since beore surgery (Oct 6) and being extremely careful to scrub my hands with hibiclens before bandaids. Called my surgeon and now I'm headed to my PCP to get the incisions checked out. The area isn't warm and I don't have a fever, feel great, but there's pus (gross sorry) coming out. Anyone deal with this? I'm so paranoid about staph and MRSA, that's where my head goes.
  11. I was sleeved on October 6th in Mexico and recovery has gone exceptionally well. Only naseau (sp) was the day after surgery and while I was very inflammed and couldn't even get the leak test stuff down the first time, I have had no pain and only slimmed once (dang mexican horse pills). I get in about 80+ ounces of liquid and about 65 grams of Protein. I didn't have my passport when crossing the border and we didn't even have to go to second inspection! I have energy and feel better than I have in months. I just keep having the feeling of "when will the other shoe drop"? "This is too good to be true". I know I'm only 8 days out and leaks/strictures/infection and stuff can still happen and I keep thinking, "when will Murphy's Law rear its ugly head"? I'm feeling like a paranoid lunatic. I don't have insurance to cover any complications and had to this surgery mostly because I cannot seem to get insurance with all my pre-existing conditions and BMI for less than $700 a month with a $2500 deductible. The list of off the wall and rare crap I've had is astonishing. Anyone else feel this way? For those who have had complications, when did things start to go down hill? *My heart goes out to those who are having serious complications and a tough recovery road. I mean in no way to flaunt how well I'm feeling and please don't take this offensively.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

Hello all.. I always thought I was 4ft 11 in and after being measured at the hospital, I'm only 4ft 8in. Started this journey at 278 and was sleeved Oct 6th by Dr Kelly in tj. Recovery has been a piece of cake, and I'm paranoid that something bad is around the corner. I'm also down 30 pounds since surgery.
  13. Height: 4ft 8 in. Yep I said it. I always thought I was 5ft, then got measured at the hospital and im actually 4 ft 8in. Is it weird that this was the most upsetting thing to me after surgery? Anyway, sorry for the rant. sw: 276 day of surgery Oct 6: 260 cw: 235 Gw: 130 I already have the jiggles everywhere..time to start lifting.
  14. Hey everyone...surgery went well with Dr Kelly on Oct 6th...I was in lots of pain and really didn't think I'd be up wlking around shopping...sure enough, went out shopping with Omar yesterday and we're out for some sight-seeing today..if anyone is at the Lucerna, I'm here too until tomorrow morning!
  15. Hey everyone. I was sleeved on 10/6 by Dr Kelly, so I'm less than 24 hours post op. When I got all checked in to the hospital, they measured my height. I've always been measured as being 5ft but was measured here and was told I'm 4'8"(I don't know why but I got really upset about this, must just be nerves). Then the nurses couldn't find a vein and I started to lose control. Huge meltdown almost canceled and went home but Omar (Dr. Kelly's assistant) came in and calmed me down. Woke up from surgery in massive pain and had tons of nausea. Some morphine and a few good upchucks and I felt better. One piece of advice, if you feel like you need to throw up, just do it. Hurt at first but then felt much better. I'm the only patient on this floor, so I have 2 nurses and an on call doctor, who respond to every button push or noise. Feeling much better than yesterday, just feel yucky from the anesthesia, I always get a weird hangover and headache after surgery. Sorry for the rambling, just kind out of it.
