    Wait Time For Intimacy

Umm well my fiance and I were in a nice hotel 3 days post op and since we never get time away from our 3 year old...we took full advantage. I used pillows to brace myself and the positions that work the best are spooning and reverse cow girl.

    Mexico

I apologize if I have offended you or if you felt I was saying that prejudice is due to race or creed. I was referring to the patient experiences as your personal experience because you had personal knowledge of them and their cases, thats all. And once again, I did not mean to engage you directly and I apologize. I specifically chose a surgeon who has attended school and has been licensed in both the US and in Mexico. I agree the medical schools in Mexico are not up to standards. Oddly enough, we are in agreement about that. Many surgeons go to school here and return to Mexico because of a higher profit margin. Which I know is because of malpractice insurance, and I understand both sides of that argument. On another note, there are 2 surgeons (bariatric) who practice out of Mexico whose complications are numerous and one has been arrested.

And prejudice and racism are 2 different things. I never said you had anything against Hispanics.

    Mexico

I went to Mexico because I don't have health insurance and kept getting denied from purchasing insurance because of my BMI. I also have had no problem getting insurance now that I'm down almost 42 pounds. Blue cross blue shield approved me and I disclosed my surgery. Oh and just so you know, its common practice for insurance to not cover complications from a surgery the patient had before they had insurance coverage. The phrase "pre existing condition" comes to mind...

    Yogurt Maker?

  6. I was wondering if I could take more than 1 type of acid medicine. I tried protonix and while it worked great for acid, the side effects were awful. I'm guessing you take just the regular zantac?

Did My Boobs Just Get Bigger?

Haha...cracked me up. Boobs growing is something I know about. I was a 36f at 14 and had a reduction at 16. Every time I lose weight, it seems the weight navigates to the boobs, then jumps ship. The plastic surgeon said its uncommon but breasts can be mystical (which at 16 sounded uber creepy to me).

    Mexico Safety

I had surgery in TJ on Oct 6th.We even ventured into some of seedy areas, such as Zona Norte. This is considered one of the most dangerous areas as this is where the brothels and strip clubs are. I felt safe even in the "scary" areas. I felt 100% safe in the hotel and even the shopping centers.

    I Am Not Losing!

I lost 13 pounds the first week and was ecstatic....weighed myself yesterday, 3 weeks with no weight loss. I have a high BMI so I figured I would lose fast, but I've been taking measurements and lost inches. Try to measure yourself and while it won't take away the sting of a stall, it prevented me from feeling hopeless (I know that's irrational to feel that way so soon post op but hormones run amuck).
  11. I've googled and searched on here and a few other sites but I didn't quite find the answer so hopefully someone can shed some light. I was sleeved 10/6/2012 and had no gas pains. Then yesterday I started with some shoulder pains; not really severe and no other pain anywhere. It feels like a gas pain (many a laproscopic abdominal surgeries) but I've never had it start so late out. I'm still on full liquids and haven't cheated (ok well chewed up some stuff and spit it out while cooking family dinners). I'm paranoid about every twinge. I did call the doc and he said it's probably gas pain but then I get to thinking....and my mind gos to the worst place possible. Anyone else have gas pains that started so late?

Its a online program/phone app that allows you to track food and exercise. You can also view other members food diaries and add friends. I like it because I can see what other post opers are eating without having to ask.

Not to be nosy but may I ask about your MFP name?
  14. I'm on pureed/soft foods and I'm wondering, what seems the best way to measure food? I've used measuring cups to measure mushed up chicken salad and a scale and the amount in 1/4 cup (2 oz volume) is different than 2 oz (weight) on the scale. My plan was to use to scale after I'm done with purees, since that's how I've always measured for weightloss. Any thoughts?
  15. Thank you for the responses, its reaffirmed that I'm on track. I'll just keep measuring for volume now, then hijack off of fiddlemans idea.
  16. Well I'm only 3 1/2 weeks post op but I had a huge cyst burst last week. Pain so bad, thought I was dying but it only lasted 30 minutes and since I've had so many burst, I instantly recognized the feeling. My hair issue seems worse but I'm keeping the hope that It's just from the hormones being released from the fat. My period is still unreliable....
  17. Better...the pain went away after a few days. I'm having some bathroom issues so my pain is in a different area. The heating pad worked well for me. My biggest problem was the obsessesion that it could be a sign of some horrible complication. Once I was able to relax a little, the gas pain seemed to ease up a bit too. Good luck...
  18. Anyone on MFP? I thought there was a thread about this but now I can't find it. Anyways..if you are, add me..my username is tiachristian87. Sleeved 10/6/12
