  3. Everyone that I have spoken to about walking or jogging says dont be over concerned about your speed...When I first started jogging I thought I looked ridiculous! Im still not the fastest jogger but jogging none the less! If you are walking 3 miles you can getting ALOT out of it! Listen to your body it will tell you how much and how fast! You are up and moving which is more than the person sitting on the couch! And if you were anything like me and Im guessing lots of us here we werent active so seeing that your up and moving counts for so much! Like I said...Take it easy and dont over do it! Remember its a journey of finding the new you dont burn yourself out!
  4. I NEVER thought I could jog either! But Im doing it and so can you! I started out on my walk I would pick a tree, a rock, a curve or something on the track and told myself Im going to run to that spot! It gets easier promise! Take it day to day and dont over do it! Good luck!

I would most certainly increase my calorie intake a little and see what happens? How about exercise..are you doing any of that? Your doctor sounds very mean! I wasnt having issues last fill however they did a barium on me anyway just to make sure everything was the way it should be! Take some time and gather your thoughts! You will succeed!! 20. Keeping fingers crossed for you! I was banded just a few weeks after you November 21,2011. And I reach 198 on 8/28. I like you thought at first that my weight was really slow however I am celebrating any success!! As we all should! I will tell you that I stalled at 205 then I changed from walking to a combination of both. I was getting bored with the walking so I would pick a point on the track and would jog to that point. I then found this forum and read about couch to 5k. I started the very next week and the change in my body was been pretty amazing. I never ever thought I would want to run...Well I DO! I have ever inspired my sis to start the program and we are going to run our first 5k together once we both complete the 9 week program! And I will agree that sometimes we dont realize that we arent eating enough (I know sounds weird huh?) and Drink your fluids! You have done an amazing job! Keep up the great work!
  21. Gonna be a little rough on ya.... But I think you might need to chill out a bit! Who says they have only lost 40 lbs? Thats as much as my 5 yr old son! Come on! Its 40 pounds and thats Amazing! Lets also remember that the band is a tool to assist you with your goal! I believe in you so start believing in yourself! As others have said...Keep your food log! Ever thought maybe you are straving your body and its holding onto everything you have! You might really be surprised once you keep track EVERYDAY! And ya gotta get off the couch sweety! Exercise! You will be so amazed at your results and how much better you will have those 40 pounds gone and sweating a little bit! Believe in yourself and anything is possible! Lets do it! Setting a mini goal really helped me stay on track! Best of luck!!
  22. Hello yall! I have been going back and forth trying to decide what I want to do. Maintain my weight or continue to lose and set myself a new goal. I have had lots of imput from family and some of my dearest friends all very positive of evrything that I can accomplished this far. They are concerned that if I lose much more weight that I may look sick. I understand that concern as I have seen people go to the extreme and continue to try and reach that number on the scale. I have decided since reaching onederland on August 23 I am going to an additional 23 lbs. That will be a total weight loss of 85 lbs. Have any of you experienced the deciding moment on what to do next. I never dreamt that I would ever have to or get the chance to make the decision to loss MORE weight!
  23. Welcome and Congrats on getting your band! Welcome to the land of bandster! This is a fantastic website full of all kinds of information!! With you working with your doctore...Listening to your body...excercising..drinking Water and staying focused on your goal you can achieve it! for me I set mini goals for myself... Like at my next fill I want to be down 8 lbs... It really helped me stay focused on the here and now but still keep the future in sight! Good luck and congrats again!
  24. Afternoon from Texas Yall! Does anyone else have the experience that you can not eat after exeercise? Im doing C25K 3 days a week and normally just walk 2 additional days. On the days that I do C25K I can not get afterwards. Not sure if its because joggin moves my insides around so much or what the heck is going on. Anyone else experience this?
  25. In the past I have found the best thing for me is to try and remain as calm as possible and remove myself from everyone. It seems to help me concentrate on keeping my cool. And I walk...not fast but just getting up and moving around. It has taken as long as 20 mintues for food to pass. I will tell you that you learn VERY quickly when you swallow if its going to get stuck. You learn to listen and pay attention to your body. I would NOT advise anyone to throw up. I have and its terribly unpleasant and not to mention VERY exhausting. Best advice...Remain calm, breath and get up and walk. Good luck!
