Hey. Do u know if we can use a flex belt with a band
-
Hey Helen my name is Amira and I'm going to start attending your monthly groups. But I was wondering if with having a band the last 2years weather I can use a flext belt. It's a electronic stimulating belt to help tone my core muscles. I know this is the lazy way. But is it a danger to use it with the band. Amira

Was banded on Tuesday! Feeling pretty crappy today. What about you?Poor thing, it really does hurt!!! But it's a good hurt in the long run. Take lots of pain killers, it's worth it. Did they advise u to see a dietician after the first fill. But take it easy, don't push yourself too hard, u want the muscles around it to heal properly, so do everything they say. Thinking of u

Hey can u send me your email, so we can chat and support each other cause u sound like my twin. Ha. I think I'm back on track, took me 2 years to work it all out, I've now lost 8 kg after putting all my weight back on to when I had my band in. Having my band too tight just made me fatter

I log all my food on myfitnesspal' date=' it's a great app. Add me as a friend (ajtexas0) and you can view my daily meals. Basically, eggs for Breakfast, sandwich using sandwich thins and lean lunch meat with cottage cheese or a boiled egg, greek yogurt for mid afternoon snack, lean meat and a veggie for dinner. I drink a couple of glasses of wine in the evening (I know some bandsters have issues with that) and yes I do count the calories in. If I get evening munchies I have peanuts.
As for exercise, I'm just starting to push myself more. I ride a stationary bike for 30 minutes in the evening. About 5 nights a week. Just last week I got a Fitbit, basically its a pedometer on steroids. I really like it. It counts flights of stairs climbed and i work on the 8th floor of an office building so I've been trying to climb as many flights as I can in a day. My best day was 17.....course my legs felt like they where falling off.
My best advise is set small goals, look at what you can do this week, or this month. Don't look at the big goal cause that is to far away and you will get frustrated and give up. My current goal is to climb 15 flights of stairs 5 days in a row by the end of August. Once I reach that I'll try 7 days a week, etc.
Good luck to you. PM me and I'll send you my email so we can keep in touch, check on each other.[/quote']
What does PM mean, I suck at computers, so I'm guessing u can send me your email address. Maybe u can PM me so I know what u mean. Does it mean post me

My name is Steve, aka former fat kid. I'm one of the comics who roams the halls of LBT, if your in a rut, need a good laugh, need encouragement, kick in ass, hit me up.. if you need to borrow 20 don't hit me up :-P. Well...offer us out on table, come get it![/quote']Ok Steve, I think I have finally worked out how to use this forum, I so suck at computers!! Your weight loss is so impressive , I think my last message got to u. Could u tell me what your typical menu and amount of food u ate when u were losing weight. Did u take Vitamins. Did u lose your weight fast or was is 1/2 kg a week(1pound). I don't think u use kg over there. I work long hours I don't have a lunch break, so I kept eating things that went down quick, like chocolate, which was ok at the beginning cause it was only a little, then somehow I found myself eating 250grams a day. Weight went nuts. So now I make a salad sandwich with avocado , and salad, maybe eggplant, and I nibble all day on it, cause i don't have the time to sit and eat, so at least I am eating something healthy. At nite I tend to have a diet frozen meal, or Peanut Butter on toast, or just Cereal and milk, but I don't get to eat till about 9.30pm, so I think this is one of the first things I have to change and having my small piece of chocolate at nite, which I link forward to all day. So so so , what have u got to say, be brutal, I can take it, .. Go in give it to me

I'm from Austin' date=' Texas, USA. Was banded Feb 7, 2012. I've lost 60 lbs so far, 30 to go. I agree about chocolate. I Am the biggest chocoholic in town! I get my chocolate fix by taking a chocolate Protein shake, pouring it into a popsicle mold and freezing it. I get 6 chocolate Popsicles.... yummm. This is hard work, that's for sure. But it is so worth it. I am down 3 clothing sizes and boy does that feel good. Send me a PM anytime. Take care.[/quote']
Hey great idea that Protein popsicle, will try that in summer, abut cold at the moment. I live in one of the coldest states in Australia in Melbourne, but summer it hits 40degrees Celsius , so definitely will try then. I can't believe how much weight u have lost so quickly, u have really done an amazing job. Can u tell me what a typical day of food would be, how much u eat. I am really not a success story, I've been banded 1.5 years and it's mainly now that I'm getting hold of how to use the band properly. I lost weight at the start, then fell off the wagon and put 20kg back on and now 8 kg down again. So feels like I'm starting again, but not, cause I'm starting to understand more how useful this band is. Do u exercise???? I don't know what the time difference is for us, I will have to google it
-
This sits is full of just that! I am here for you. Feel free to send me a pm if you need. What is on your mind? Doubt? You can do this. You are going to have challenges and hurdles but you will concore all of them. You have all of us on your side.Hey there where r u from, I'm from Australia, how long have u had your band and how much weight have u lost. I have had mine 2 years and only now starting to really work out ow to use this tool. I had no support after getting the band. So had to work it out. But I think. I'm finally starting to get it. chocolate can still be bait of a problem. Would be great to hear from u
-
Would love u to be my mentor Steve. I live in Australia , when I got my band done there was no support, u were expected to work it out on your own. Operation done, now go off and sort yourself out. It's taken me about a year and a half to work out exactly how the band works. I lost weight then tried to be smart and went too tight and ending up just eating chocolate and Protein Drinks and of course put a lot of weight back on. I was so under nourished. Had no energy, now I think I'm back on track and can eat small pieces of meat, but still fighting that sugar addiction. So hard, and trying to give up smoking which makes me want more sugar!!!! Would love some positive advice.

I too fell off the wagon and put back 20kg, now lost 10kg again, I found as long as I stuck to real food I couldn't eat much, so that's what I did and cut the junk out, I still have one or two small fun size chocolates cause I can't live without those, but mainly I decided real food, would love to chat more and keep each other on track

-
Yeah I've tried chat, but no one seems to answer

We are getting lost in the crowd. We need to keep communicating with each other. It has slowed way down for me. Lost 68 lbs in my first year . . . wanted more but not giving up.Lets hear from some more July 2009 bandsters!!!
Cheri
68 lbs that is just amazing, how!!!!!!!
-
I also need to get back on track. I lost about 55 pounds quickly and have been plateaued for a few months mainly because I have slacked off on my exercise and food journal. I accept the challenge to log what I am eating. I have the realize band and it has a great website for keeping track of everything. Starting tonight I will use the website and check in here! That's unreal, I think I'll start my food journal again, it's the only way to keep me on track
