  1. Momto6ix, Perhaps step back for a moment and think about the words you are using with your loved one. Based on some of the responses to your posts, its not difficult to become offended or defensive if an individual feels judgement vs. wanting understanding. But back to your question about WLS vs. diet. The average person cannot live on a 'diet' for their entire lives but you can change habits. This tool doesn't give you tons of options for failure. Want to over eat? No space for that. Choose the wrong food, you'll be besties with the porcelain throne! etc. With loving kindness you can help your loved one be as successful as is possible!
  2. I use to consider myself an hourglass until I wrote down my measurements just before surgery! I am officially pear shaped. I have lost 3 sizes on top and one on the bottom. 'My body's too bootylicious for ya babe'! Smh...ha ha
  3. I say lets start ignoring the posts we feel are negative and perhaps they will go away. It seems to be happening way too often. Over the crazies posting crazy stuff! Anywho back to newgrandmother, on a separate note I too upped my carbs a few weeks ago and have seen a steady loss. Course my arse is not interested but hey it is what it is! Per my scale I am staying well hydrated
  4. Proudgrammy you did that! Congrats!
  5. That is awesome! What are your stats?
  6. Hey guys, Im doing well. Of course weight loss has slowed but the scale is back to moving after my stall. Down 32 lbs and getting in regular cardio and resistance training. Getting in the Water next week...very excited about that! Other than that I'm trying to push to goal as quickly as possible. Ive got about 100 lbs to lose to get between my goal and my drs. Long journey ahead. Lol Thanks for checking in!
  7. This has been a great 6 weeks so far. Today it really hit home how much weight I have lost. I needed to fill out my weight on a form today and I was so use to writing 300 lbs that I almost put that down but then I realized I am 268!! What a beautiful number. Smiling from ear to ear :-)
  8. Been dealing with a snails pace loss over the past couple of weeks. This morning I woke up and was down 2.5lbs. FINALLY!
  9. Dang! O need to get with the program! I was also sleeved 2/13 and have only lost 30lbs. Im content with the loss and dropping from 26 to 18/20, but I want the scale to get back to moving! Lol
  10. I too had some concerns about the weight loss. My husband married me as a full figured woman. I had a convo with him prior to surgery to tell him how much i needed him to tell me he loves me as the thought of losing weight made me feel insecure even though my husband is of average weight. I have always been heavy but also have always gotten attention from men. The difference when I lose weight is the men approaching me are progressively becoming more and more attractive. But I will handle them the same as the others. Say thank you to the compliments and don't engage any further...if they persist tell them to get the h$@# out of your face bc you are married! Lastly, although my husband married me full and likes me this way he has enjoyed the perks of my sleeve from better intimacy to cheaper dining bills...ha ha. You may have to point out the perks to him. Im sure he will appreciate some things about your sleeve as well!
  11. looking good! Alright, you know the standard question. What was your workout schedule, protein quantities etc.
  12. Looking great! Can you post a before picture?
  13. I lost in my tummy first tgen my face and thighs. My butt and boobs have not moved. 30lbs down.
  14. Doing a little dance with you!
  15. I believe it...those things are horribly disgusting. I almost vomiting bc the consistency is repulsive. I cant even look at another protein shot now and that incident was over a month ago ha ha
  16. 8 more lbs and I will be at a low I havent seen in over 16 years! Im so excited. More strength training and cardio on for this week! Let's do this
  17. Hi there...I increased my carbs and started weight training! Its slow but moving
  18. Getting down reg food will certainly get easier with time! Glad things are well.
