  1. today my hematologist said i need to take (2) 325mg of ferrous sulfate which is equivalent to 65mg of iron. are there any chewables that contain that amount? i have surgery on 12/10 and figured i would just start with these instead of having switch after. thanks!
  2. I'll just let you know what I experienced. I emailed about 10 companies. All of which said they do not give out samples. Some do sell sample kits but I haven found any that will give you them for free. I've read on here that some Nuts will provide samples of those and vitamins but mine did not. Not sure if that helps but that's what I experienced
  3. I got approval on 10/29 but I couldn't schedule until I did my nut class, ultrasound, and pulmonary clearance. The last piece was my nut class on 11/5 was able to schedule on 11/9 for 12/10 . Each program is different so you might get different answers. Congrats by the way!!!!
  4. So I've been on ppi's for a while. Sometimes off and on but for the past 6 year probably more on them then not. Anyways after my egd back in September my surgeon took me off lansaprozole 15mg and but me on nexium 40mg. Well recently I've been experiencing heart palpitations and rapid heart rate so bad that I had to do a 30 event monitor and echocardiogram. All checked out ok. The palps increasingly got worse, I also started having brain fog achy joints, dizziness, arm and leg numbness, tightness in chest, extreme anxiety, muscle cramps. I went to urgent care twice thinking I was dying. All checked out fine. Ekg was normal. BP was fine. Thursday night I keep telling hubs that I didn't feel right. Was kind of dizzy but couldn't really pinpoint what was wrong but I just felt off. I took my bp and it was 106/60. I'm usually around 120/85. The bp did go back up. I was then laying in bed trying to figure out what the hell I've done differently the past couple of months. Then it hit me... Nexium. Then started my Google searches. Which has led me to such sad news. These side effects are very common and most of them are very serious and the doctors just dismiss them. None seem to take into consideration the medications in which you are taking. I have learned that nexium and other ppi's inhibit Iron absorption, b12 and also depletes your magnesium levels. If you read up on this its staggering. I'm not saying or diagnosising anyone but I just had to pass this along in case anyone is going through what I went through. I'm just dumbfounded by this. Here is just one of at least 35 sites that I have found. (I apologize I know this is choppy post but I'm typing really fast and I think I missed some stuff I wanted to say). http://www.askapatient.com/mobile/viewrating.asp?drug=21153&name=NEXIUM&sort=timelength&page=107&PerPage=1

  9. Hey ladies? Im getting sleeved 12/10 with dr rantis as well at alexia bros. Thats awesone that you have lost 63lbs!!! And same to the other girl who lost 32! Great job you guys.
  10. Thanks for your help. I know those numbers are not real high as i know a cpl people who had numbers in the 3&4 hundreds. But i also know if they remain on the higher side of normal that could cause problems over time. Thanks!
  11. This is cross posted also on the preop page. Ive recently been having palpitations. Sometimes they last all day. Other times they are sporadic and i only get a few a day. My dr did some heart tests all checked out fine. The last three weeks or so ive been waking up at 3am and cant sleep. I pushed it off as stress from all this preop stuff. But now after reading stuff online im wondering if i am beginning to show signs of diabetes. I had a fasting blood test on 11/1 through my work and my blood sugar was 104. Not terrible and within the normal range. But still kinds high. Then after readinf a few things online last night it said often people whos blood sugar drops at night usually happens aroubd 3am. Which wakes them up. Then when they actually wake up your sugar is kinda high fro.offsetting the high. So like clock work again i awoke at 3am this morning. I didnt think to check my sugar then. But when i got up at 530 i did take it and it was 122. The last time i ate was 7pm the night before. I dont know if ive given enough info but could i have the onset of diabetes? My surgery is 12/10 and i dont know if i should go to the dr to talk about this? I gave up soda, most things sugary and caffeine almost 4 weeks ago. I dont know if that change is throwing off my body or what. Any help would be awesome!!! TIA!
  12. And i brought up the heart palps bc it also said that could be from the sugar levels.
