Do Any Of You Feel Guilt?

Thanks all for your responses. I definitely don't feel it's an easy way out. I personally thinks it's going to be very difficult at first but I am ready for the change. I have to do something Thank you all for your insight.
  2. this is so weird. i am SO excited about this surgery. finally feeling like there is light at the end of this weight tunnel. i received my date on friday, december 10, woohoo! i am now starting to tell close friends and family. but as i say it out loud to them i feel such a feeling that i gave up and now its come to having to have surgery to get my weight under control. everyone has been so supportive and feels i am making the right decision. is that a normal feeling to feel that way? i almost feel defeated. its hard to explain...
  3. No experience yet but I will be having the same thing done Dec 10. Good luck to you!
  4. the lunch thing just made me crack up. my friend works right by the hospital i will be at. she said that she will bring me lunch after my surgery and eat with me. i looked at her like...youre kidding right? and she oh...yeah...no lunch

  9. Skinny sex! Aside from being healthy and all. What are you looking forward too post surgery?
  10. I have bcbs of il ppo. I had to do diet class, pysch, and show a history of being overweight. I believe that was it. I had a few things come up that stalled my process a bit but once it got sent it it was approved fairly quickly.
  11. Like above posters said it's kinda all depends on insurance and how busy the offices are that you are going too. I went to my first seminar august 4 met my surgeon august 29 and have done numerous tests and things since. My case was submitted to bcbs on 10/25 I was approved 10/29 and just got pulmonary clearance. I should get my date any day now.

    Android Mobile App..i Can't Post?

I have the galaxy III and you have to hit the menu button on the lower left and it will bring up the refresh reply subscribe menu then you should be able to. It took me a while to figure it out cause on the iPhone there were buttons on the app to post and such.
  14. I know patience is a virtue and it will all fall into place but I just want to get my date! I received pulmonary clearance last Friday but they wouldn't send it to my Dr until I had cardiac clearance. I had something pop up on a test which after a week of hubby and I freaking out turned out to be nothing. So cardiology has sent the ok to the lung Dr that surgery was good. But now I'm waiting for the lung Dr to review that and send the pulmonary clearance in. Was hoping for yesterday but of course my Dr was not in the office to review it :-) This has been the most stressful 4 months of my life. That is all. Happy almost friday!!!!!

Patient Instructions Night Before Surgery Question ?

Same as above but also have to do hibicleanse the night before and the morning of. It's some sort of antibacterial rinse. Apparently stains your skin blue
  16. I just had my nut class and she mentioned what vitamins we can take. She gave us a list of 4 brands and what to buy. My question to her was do we have to take those exact vitamins for the rest of our lives or in 6 months to a year post op csn we go back to what we used to take before surgery? She didn't really answer my question other than saying we sleeves need to take vitamins forever... So my question for you all... How long do we use for example the Bariatric advantage vitamins?

Glad all is going well with you! The lung Dr today was making nervous saying how bad recovery will be with the sleeve hernia and gallbladder. Good luck to you

    Oatmeal

Here is a recipe I found yesterday. It was pretty tasty. I think cooking the oats with the cinnamon helped a lot. I didn't do the milk or the honey but did add about a teaspoon of brown sugar. Probably less than that. I also added a teaspoon of flax seed to each serving I made. I'm sure you could also add Protein powder http://www.food.com/recipe/irish-steel-cut-oatmeal-139298
