  1. I like to make my own with sirloin and good cheese. I can avoid fast food if i can make the same taste at home. Maybe low fat sliders?? I love burgers and i do not think they should be off limits as long as you are smart about their prep.
  2. Mmmmm. Cake burgers! Haha.
  3. Lol!! I have seen some posts with people saying they eat them!! I am just wondering how much you can get down. Moderation!!
  4. Can you eat them post op and if so, about how much?
  5. Thank u all for the advice. God i hope it does get better and i am sure it will! I get ahead of myself. I was so looking fwd to food this week but i will take a step hack and eat more soups and cheese. Cheese goes down great! .
  6. Just started pureed and had pureed chicken. I was able to do 2 bites every hour. Omg. So maybe i am not ready for denser protein?? Please advise when you were able to get this down. Also, it does get easier right??? Ahhh
  7. Surgery was Jan 7th. Lost 14 pounds since then. 19 pounds since pre op. pain finally subsided. No nausea but i did become dehydrated and I'm fatigued. Its been hard to get it all in but i just have to sip sip sip. Start purees tomorrow. Dying for real food!
  8. I agree that a few bites on a special occasion won't hurt as long as i can tolerate it. Balance is out goal! True that this is our life and not a diet! I am one week post op and no no sweet cravings at all! But for days i have been craving fries and today i am craving quiche!
  9. Are you able to ever have a bite of cake, like at a party or whatev? Does anything "weird" happen? Lol
  10. How long did you experience incision pain? Its the bigger one that hurts, the one the stomach came out of. Its so painful.
  11. I will be 4 days out tomorrow. Incision pain, the bigger one, is crazy painful. Gas is up and down. I get in about 20oz of fluid. Ugh. Cant wait for this stage to be over. Im a baby when it comes to pain .
  12. Update: going home today. No complications. Taking liquids slow and fine. No nausea. A tad of gas but not killing me. Leak test done and passed. Main issue is incision pain still but that will improve. I try to walk once an hour and practice deep breaths. Still in shock i did this but now it is time to work with it. Had a little break down yesterday, i was a bit overwhelmed mixed with incision pain. Cried like a baby. Thanks to all of you for support. .
  13. Had my surg earlier today. Can u share your hospital stay story?? Were your vitals normal post op?
  14. Thank you all for replies! Every word is an ease. Im so glad this support is available to us and without it i feel i would have come to a different decision. Will try to keep positive thoughts! :/
  15. After looking at my official "before" pics, that created the extra push to do this. Trying not to be nervous and hoping for an uneventful operation and recovery. Really looking fwd to taking an "after" pic that will not bring disappointment. Also looking fwd to less foot and knee pain! Deep breaths! Ahhhh! .
  16. The sleeve is the first step of duodenum switch.
  17. Well, average weight loss per month is about 10-13 pounds, so it looks like you are above average on losing the pounds. I would not be disappointed by any means. Patience! Lol
  18. Are these the staples from your stomach line?? I has no idea that start wandering! Omg
  19. What are you eating/ drinking?? Thanks!!
  20. My pre op diet is 3 Protein Shakes and a low carb low fat meal. Sooooo, id assume that u will be ok. We had diet options so i chose the one with real food or i may have jumped out a window.
