  1. I too am 9 months out and notice some habits slipping... summertime too relaxed and fun I guess!

I think the boot camp is a great idea.

I notice that by doing 3 simple things I get back on track: 1. count Protein grams and make sure you always hit your daily target 2. Count Fluid intake and 3. Monitor portion size (ie measure). I am not counting calories or carbs, but just doing Protein first and getting enough Fluid seems have helped me get on track and be less "desiring of food". I think those dang carbs just start enticing you over time....

Doing tht today! eating greek yogurt for Breakfast and a string cheese stick! I'm also making sure i eat every 3-4 hours also!

  2. Hey guys, I'm offically going on my 9th month and starting October I've lost about 100lbs. It's exciting and scary. This past month -- mostly the end of summer my eating habits havent been great. I went from not really eating at all. to now eating the wrong things. And now I'm worried about my restriction. I definitely still have some restriction but it's not as much as it used to be. and i feel i need that back. I've heard of people doing liquid diets to get their ristriction back. is this true? PLEASEEEEE HELP GUYS!. I really want to make this surgery as success and don't want to F**** it up.

  3. Thank you everyone! i agree i think i just have to stay focused on what I eat. I never have appetite, I never feel hungry but sometimes i get those devilish cravings that haunt me. Tomorrow I'm gonna get back on track start bumping up my excercise and Protein so that I can get to my goal!

  4. Hey guys, I've been doing pretty good with my sleeve. I had surgery the 31st of Jan. and I've lost about 85 pounds. I've been doing pretty well excercising and eating well but sometimes i have bad weeks where i dont always make the best choices. I'm scared that i'm gonna end up gaining weight. is it a possibility to gain weight back after a certain point in surgery?

  5. My nutritionist gave me a sample of these bad boys and I loved them especially the orange but i've been too busy to get back to her about ordering some, so I have no idea how much they are or where to get them from...

Sunkist Protein 24g, super tiny and way better than any Isopure or Protein Shots, and especially those aweful shakes!

Those look really good! and have a good amount of protein! when you find out please tell me!

  6. I seriously doctor up my Protein drinks. It "masks" the flavor of the Protein enough that I find them enjoyable.

(BTW, when I had my lapband 6 years ago Isopure was the first brand I tasted and I couldn't stand it. Then I went to EAS CarbAdvantEdge and that was my staple for 5 - 6 years. This time around I"m still experimenting).

    Tonight was PBJ protein drink:

    2 scoops vanilla powder

    1 tbl PB2 Peanut Butter

1 pump SF Peanut Butter Syrup

    1 pump SF strawberry syrup

    Made in plain, light soymilk.

I never, and I mean never, drink "straight up" Protein Drinks. The smell alone is too bad. Not a lot is going into my mouth nowadays so I really want to enjoy what does.

Yesterday was peanut butter cup protein day (chocolate powder, PB2 peanut butter, SF peanut butter syrup).

Tomorrow is feeling like it might be an orange julius protein day (vanilla powder, SF orange syrup, tsp SF vanilla pudding). I little farther out I will use reduced acid OJ instead of the syrup.

For RTD, I prefer the EAS CardAdvantEdge in strawberry, but it has to be VERY cold. I can't stand them once they warm up. I buy them at Target, they look like this:

THANKS! you helped a lot. Where do you get you SF syrups from? i really need some for my protein and for my greek yogurt.

  7. I hate the shakes too! And I've spent alot of money on them at GNC and now I can't even drink them, such a waste! The Isopure (which is also kinda pricey, for my poor nursing student budget) is OK but now that I can taste things so profoundly it kinda has a salty after taste that I can't stand. To make matters worse now that I'm almost 6 weeks in I can start eating more foods but chicken, fish and deli meats are now making me sick. I think I am just doomed to struggle with my Protein intake. I have seen that nectar stuff though and I think I might try it :)

Yeah I feel you! especially with the finacial part of it. Isopure cost me about $51 and I've bought two. and another brand of Protein Shakes . It's so hard trying to figure out which ones to get because you don't know how they taste or how your palette is going to react. it's a bit (A lot) annoying.

  8. I had a really hard time also (2 weeks out from surgery) and still can't get the ones down that I loved before surgery! But a friend suggested the New Whey Protein " shots" u can get at Wal-Mart. They come in grape, watermelon, and acai berry. 42 grams of Protein in 3 ounces and cost about $2.50 per tube. They sure have saved me!!!

Those sound really good! i might try those! my nutritionist told me to try protein waters like what your talking about. she told me to those in between meals and it'll help getting my protein in easier!

  9. I know there are folks who like the Isopure, but I have never met them! I have tried a couple and couldn't finish them, either. Didn't like them at all. I settled on Premier brand from costco. Soooo much easier to drink.

Honestly....I hate isopure. it's gross. and the flavors are gross. but i choose them because of the amount of Protein you get! you can't beat 50grams of Protein. But i may have to try something else soon...

  10. Are you pre- or post-surgery? Which shakes are you drinking? I went through a period after surgery where nothing tasted good except Jello and the shakes felt like torture. But by the 2nd week it got better, and now I barely notice them.

I have used only nectar and unjury brand's of whey Protein isolate. They have lots of flavors and varieties, as I was so sick with vanilla and chocolate (still have a hard time with them). Are you using milk as a base to mix with or are they premixed with milk? Sometimes lactose doesn't go down well after surgery, and dairy makes congestion worse with a cold/flu. Maybe try soy, rice, or almond milk as an alternative?

If it doesn't get better, I would call your doctor. Good luck!

I'm 2 months post op. I've just started my 11th week. I use Isopure shakes and i mix them with Water, not milk or anything. its so frustrating to not be able to just drink it like a normal person

  11. I've been trying my hardest to get these Protein shakes...but i think something in them is making me sick. i have tried about 3 now and they all make me sick. Am I the only one with this problem? I HATE the taste of them. but i usually suck it up and finish it. but as soon as I finish...about 10 min later i feel uncomfortable and I start gagging and eventually puke...

But I've noticed that the actually shake isn't coming up. It mucous (i have a bit of a cold) so a little stomach acid (NUT said that it normal)

Am I the only one with this problem? please help!

  12. Thanks everyone! i needed the support because i was starting to lose my mind for a second. I'm going to focus on exercising and eating right because that is the important thing! actually my NUT told me that i have to get 90-100 grams of Protein in for my height and weight. Which is making it even more stressful. but i know that i can do it!

  13. Hi everyone, this is my first time actually posting on this site. I'm so nervous and worried about me not loosing enough weight. firs there was a mix up. My primary dr. told me i weighed 359 before surgery. then my NUT told me i was only 342. but i'm sure i had gained weight since i had last seen her. but when i went for my check up. she told me i had only lost 19 pounds at a month and half. and she said i've should've lost about 31 pounds by now. Now i'm two months and i'm scared to weigh myself because i don't want to be disappointed. I see other people losing 70, 80, 90 pounds by their second month and i dont know whats going on. I was in tears yesterday watching a youtuber talk about how much weight they lost at 10 weeks and reflecting on my own. Can anyone help me with a solution? to speed up my weight loss?
