  1. Hello! I was hoping for an October date but my insurance approval came through yesterday! Yay! I have an app with my surgeon tomorrow to set my date! It could not happen fast enough!!!!' I am hoping for next week! God bless the 'thankful' month of sleevers!!! Will repost when I get my date!

  2. Just from researching; everyone is different. Some people bounce back are home in 24 hours, don't ever use pain meds and are fully functional withing days...others struggle more spend a few days in the hospital and it takes them weeks to feel whole again. Some of this depends on bmi, age and previous physical activity and some of it has no baring what so ever! So you could be fine after a week or you could need a lot more time. If I were you...I would tell your professors about your surgery and ask for a week baring complications and then the door is open of there are! :) good luck!!!!!

  3. Thanks!

    My advice would be:

    1. Do what your doctor says and follow your pre and post op diets carefully

    2. Exercise (I'm currently doing Water aerobics 2x week' date=' 1 hour elliptical 2x week plus strength training 1-2x week)

    3. Use a food/exercise tracker like MyFitnessPal

    4. Say goodbye to fast food permanently

    5. Stay away from Pasta, rice, bread and potatoes

    6. Have fun and don't let stalls or off days get you down - they're just blips on the radar screen![/quote']

    Thanks! :)

  4. For the theigh area try a homemade mask. Make a paste with baking soda and any face wash and let it sit for awhile on the skin then wash off repeat twice a day really clears up pores. Also try mixing lotion, coffee grounds (can ised already used ones) and olive oil together to make a rub for your stretched out skin. Works wonders!

  5. Try this, in a bowl mix together 4 cups fat free milk, chocolate Protein Powder to taste, 1 can condensed milk (unsweetened) and fat free/ sugar free cool whip then put it in an ice cream maker and follow directions. Makes a frostie like consistency in an hour or so in mine and it is fantastic! ;)

Also take 4 ripe bananas slice and freeze for an hour, then put them in a blender with chocolate Protein powder and blend until smooth it makes banana ice cream it is so good!

Both made in prep for this adventure and look forward to making them after I am sleeved! :)

  6. I am taking it one milestone at a time. I have told only my brother and my husband outside of the medical community. I may tell a few close friends and my mom if ( praying) I get approved. For me I am uncomfortable lying or setting myself up to be forced to lie, I will tell the truth if asked and until then I will decide moment to moment what feels right. I don't think there is anything wrong with you keeping quiet, however you should never go to another country without an emergeny contact that knows where you are and will make sure you are safe. Also, you may need help afterward so at least someone close that can be that support for you might be important! We all need help sometimes!

  7. Close to the vest for me. So far only my husband and my brother know...once everything is for sure, I will tell a handful of people. I just want this to be my decision and once it is all set or possibly done I will tell a few people. My biggest issue is that honesty is very important to me and I refuse to lie or bend the truth so it's the future questions that may bend my choice of who I tell the most.

  8. Sadly' date=' attending a church makes you no more of a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car. Some people don't get what they're supposed to out of it <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> As we've seen here.[/quote']

Totally!!! At the end of the day Church does make Christians....Jesus does, and not everyone that attends church knows Jesus...

  9. We are welcome to our own opinions and if that is what was posted here then there would be no conflict. For example if what had been posted was... 'going to Mexico was not something that I was comfortable with. The struggles facing our border with Mexico concern me and I chose to spend my money in the US.' That is something that is an opinion but blanket statements about entire groups of people is hateful. My sister in law lives in Oaxaca and her husband is from Ensada, my husband is a Border Patrol Agent we live in a border town with a 96% hispanic population and my brother is dating an illegal immigrant that crossed here when she was fourteen. Our country is complicated, a melting pot of culture, food, language, ideals and that is American! We were built on the melding of difference and in that we found unity. Now its shifted become more complicated in ways but there is no room for blame here! God made us all equal in His eyes and therefore not a single person on this earth means less to Him than any other! His love is unending and completely impartial. Even for those that don't see it that way! ;)
