  1. AGGGGG! My surgeon had an emergency and cancelled my surgery tomorrow! I rescheduled for the 23rd...but I had worked everything out with my kids and family and I was SO ready...and now I have to re-order everything. I am frustrated!!!! I was so ready, relaxed and prepared...grrrrr!
  2. Got my date officially the 15th of november, so excited!
  3. I just got my official date! November 15th in the afternoon! So excited and nervous! Anyone else having surgery on this day?
  4. Hello! I was hoping for an October date but my insurance approval came through yesterday! Yay! I have an app with my surgeon tomorrow to set my date! It could not happen fast enough!!!!' I am hoping for next week! God bless the 'thankful' month of sleevers!!! Will repost when I get my date!
  5. Yay! Stay in touch I'd love to have a fellow sleever AI close to stay in contact with!
  6. Thanks guys! Any specific questions I should ask?
  7. It's got my official insurance approval!!!! I am so excited and terrified all at the same time! I have a Wed app with my surgeon to set my date! It feel like forever that I have been waiting for this day an now it feels surreal!
  8. I have old clothes that are boxed up that I don't fit in anymore from times I lost weight that didn't stick. Though I am really excited about shopping when I get there! I to have thought of shopping now but after doing some reararch on here, many suggest waiting because you lose so fast!
  9. I'm from Santa Clara but now live in Texas! If I'm ever in town! good luck!!!
  10. Just from researching; everyone is different. Some people bounce back are home in 24 hours, don't ever use pain meds and are fully functional withing days...others struggle more spend a few days in the hospital and it takes them weeks to feel whole again. Some of this depends on bmi, age and previous physical activity and some of it has no baring what so ever! So you could be fine after a week or you could need a lot more time. If I were you...I would tell your professors about your surgery and ask for a week baring complications and then the door is open of there are! good luck!!!!!
  11. For the theigh area try a homemade mask. Make a paste with baking soda and any face wash and let it sit for awhile on the skin then wash off repeat twice a day really clears up pores. Also try mixing lotion, coffee grounds (can ised already used ones) and olive oil together to make a rub for your stretched out skin. Works wonders!
  12. Try this, in a bowl mix together 4 cups fat free milk, chocolate protein powder to taste, 1 can condensed milk (unsweetened) and fat free/ sugar free cool whip then put it in an ice cream maker and follow directions. Makes a frostie like consistency in an hour or so in mine and it is fantastic! Also take 4 ripe bananas slice and freeze for an hour, then put them in a blender with chocolate protein powder and blend until smooth it makes banana ice cream it is so good! Both made in prep for this adventure and look forward to making them after I am sleeved!
  13. Me too! My doctors office however is dancing around a week after they originally said it would be sent in! They told me to call this afternoon to check back....so frustrated! I'll be praying for you. Keep me updated on your approval!
  14. I am taking it one milestone at a time. I have told only my brother and my husband outside of the medical community. I may tell a few close friends and my mom if ( praying) I get approved. For me I am uncomfortable lying or setting myself up to be forced to lie, I will tell the truth if asked and until then I will decide moment to moment what feels right. I don't think there is anything wrong with you keeping quiet, however you should never go to another country without an emergeny contact that knows where you are and will make sure you are safe. Also, you may need help afterward so at least someone close that can be that support for you might be important! We all need help sometimes!
  15. I was told my nut that all I needed was a normal chewable vit with minerals, calcium chews and b-12 and that was it. So, not sure what they are telling you! I'd be interested to hear what others are being told though!
  16. Close to the vest for me. So far only my husband and my brother know...once everything is for sure, I will tell a handful of people. I just want this to be my decision and once it is all set or possibly done I will tell a few people. My biggest issue is that honesty is very important to me and I refuse to lie or bend the truth so it's the future questions that may bend my choice of who I tell the most.
  17. Boo to the game playing! Glad that you found someone that works with you better! For now I am stuck with what I got!
  18. Thanksso much for your advice! I got it all together and am submitting this week!!!
  19. We are welcome to our own opinions and if that is what was posted here then there would be no conflict. For example if what had been posted was... 'going to Mexico was not something that I was comfortable with. The struggles facing our border with Mexico concern me and I chose to spend my money in the US.' That is something that is an opinion but blanket statements about entire groups of people is hateful. My sister in law lives in Oaxaca and her husband is from Ensada, my husband is a Border Patrol Agent we live in a border town with a 96% hispanic population and my brother is dating an illegal immigrant that crossed here when she was fourteen. Our country is complicated, a melting pot of culture, food, language, ideals and that is American! We were built on the melding of difference and in that we found unity. Now its shifted become more complicated in ways but there is no room for blame here! God made us all equal in His eyes and therefore not a single person on this earth means less to Him than any other! His love is unending and completely impartial. Even for those that don't see it that way!
  20. I am submitting to my insurance in the next couple of days! I have everything in order and am excited and nervous to receive my surgery date!
  21. Really???I was told 2 by both BCBS and my doctors office! My BMi being submitted is 37.5 but is currently 35. I have slightly high colesteral documentedplanter, fisceites documented and a disc lower back issue that I am working on getting documented now. Do I have to wait until all my nut appointments are done before submitting? Thanks for you help!!
  22. What is your BMi? If you don't mind me asking! I am looking at submitting through bcbs federal soon and am trying to get my 2 comormidies documented before I do. Any help would be appreciated! And congrats! How exciting!
