    PORT Causing Pain

Has anyone else experienced pain where their port is located??? I am a secretary so I have a sit down job. I try to get up and walk as much as possible but I definitely sit most of the work day. The last two days I have had a big typing job to do so I have been sitting more straight and I must be putting more pressure on more port. I am so much pain it feels almost as bad as when I had the surgery. I am not sure if this is a normal feeling but this pain is even making me feel nauseous. I have 2 hours left in my work day and I am not sure how I will make it through. Am I the only one???

    Cant get down Liquids

I had a 3rd fill Thursday. I followed the rules and was fine Friday and Saturday. I had a small stuck episode Saturday (yesterday) at lunch but after time it passed and I was even able to eat a few bites of dinner in the evening. This morning I tried eating a deviled egg (which I had one last night) but the eggs were really cold this morning and I didn't chew very well because I have sensitive teeth. Instantly I was stuck. I was so bad I ended up having to vomit. Afterwards I was still pretty miserable so I didn't try any drinks even. But now its been about 5-6 hours and I just tried drinking some milk and I am feeling stuck like it won't go down. I took a small sip. It wasn't even a gulp. Am I just swollen or did I slip? I have no pain inside.

    Cant get down Liquids

Oh trust me I refuse to eat anything remotely solid until this starts feeling better. However I had no idea people had a hard time with hard boiled eggs? That is the first time I have heard that. I am miserable but after drinking some hot water slowly I feel lime it might be loosening enough to actually get some milk or even broth down.

    PORT Causing Pain

With some rest the pain went away. I must have just pulled those muscles.
  6. I am so frustrated it's not even funny! I spent all of this money for this surgery... went through all of the pain and all of the new life changes and yet I am struggling with my weight loss. I have had two adjustments and currently at 5cc in a 10 cc band... I really just want to be in the green zone but unless i can pick my weight loss up my surgeon won't do another fill. Part of the problem is that for the last 4 months my life has been in utter chaos. I seemed to lose the most weight just after surgery. I hate going to my follow up appointments because I feel like such a disappointment to myself and to the surgeons. I just cant stand how terrible I am doing. I would be happy with 1lb a month even but I literally have not lost a pound since October. My weight goes down 4 then back up 4 every single week it's the exact same. I cannot get it to stay down and keep going down. I know my eating habits are getting terrible again and part of that is because I have a hard time finding foods that I like that I can make easy. BLAHHHH I guess i just needed to vent.

    PORT Causing Pain

I have a call in, just waiting for a call back. I did change the height of my chair yesterday and I have been sitting more directly with more pressure on that part of my stomach. I believe that to be the issue but I am not sure. And yes I am just over 7 months out of surgery. It feels almost as bad as just after surgery during the healing process. When I lean back for a while and stop putting so much forward pressure on the stomach it feels better.

    Plateaued for 4 months now

I actually gained a total of 8 pounds back. Life is starting to calm down and we have been trying to walk and just did some healthier grocery shopping. Hopefully I can get back on track. My husband is starting to understand better how he can support me and I feel like things might pick back up with losing. We shall see.

    Plateaued for 4 months now

Thank you all for the advice and encouragment. I really do need to get back on track with my diet and get more motivated. I really keep telling my husband to help push me more and I think I am going to suggest exercising together. I really hope I can get back to losing instead of staying the same! Thanks
  10. I am currently 5 months out of surgery exactly as of today! My husband and I got married Nov 16th of this year and the hot topic of having a baby has been on the table. I need some thoughts. I have only lost 30 lbs and have been plateaued for about 2 1/2 months.... my dieting has been rough. I wanted to get down 90 lbs in my first year so I am way behind. I also have an appt on Thursday to check on my fills. I know the Surgeons say to wait at least a year before getting pregnant but we just really feel ready. I am just scared that if we do this then my hard work a d struggles with be for nothing. I am open to any and all comments at this point. My hear says yes but my brain says tread softly!

To Baby or Not to Baby????

I am 25 my husband is 23... my parents were 23 & 25 when they had me so I guess I see from their view it worked out great...

To Baby or Not to Baby????

Yeah I think the clock ticking is an issue. Ever since I was a little girl I had wanted to have my family started by 23 just like my mom did... well I am 25 now and going on 26. I have always told myself I do not want to have kids after 30 so I feel like I am getting too close to that window. Maybe that is part of my wanting to rush it. I did tell my husband last night that I might need to be selfish and just wait... I really don't want to but I feel like it's the right choice.

To Baby or NOT to Baby

Yeah I really would like to hit my one year goal and then let the chips fall where they may. Its just difficult when we are buying a home and getting settled in and we both are so ready to start a family... who knew it would all play out this way but it did and now I feel tormented between what I want and what I need. I am sure I will wait but it will not be easy. Plus with my husbands job now is the perfect time to conceive because he will be home when the baby is born all through next winter but timing wise if we tried around my one year mark he wouldn't be.... so it means we are actually waiting a year and a half from surgery and a year from now before we can even start trying.... and who knows if I will even conceive when we need to especially if we are adding the extra pressure.... Do you all see why I am so confused.... my brain is on overload :/

    Vomiting and Scared

The last two days I have vomited pretty hard after lunch... I was stuck both times for taking that 1 bite too many and I am just nervous about all of the vomiting because I know it can cause you to slip. I am very scared of this. I had already gone in after my last fill to see if they could take some out but the dr seems to think I should be fine where I am at. I feel like I can't eat a meal without getting stuck or close to getting stuck and I HATE that feeling. I try to eat slow, I try to over chew and eat small bites but I got to this point way too quick. I didnt' expect to be sooo restricted to quick... after my 1st fill I was still able to eat just not a lot and not certain things but now I feel like I can't eat at all. I take my 1st bite and feel like I am going to be stuck... it is definitely not going so well. I yell at my husband way more than I would like to because I get stuck and he tries to talk to me but I can't even bare the pain... I am to the point where I had to ask him to not talk to me when I am eating because it will cause me to eat too fast subconcsiouly and then I get stuck... I think I am just very frustrated but I guess I just have to keep trucking. Don't worry though I will be going on an all liquid diet for the next 24-48 hours to give my stomach and esophogas a break.

    Vomiting and Scared

I am probably taking too big of bites based on what your saying. They are about double that which is half the size I used to so I guess it seemed small. I will cut them down smaller. Thanks. I appreciate all of tour info. I don't think I am too tight I think I irritated the band yesterday and didn't take precaution so I double irritated it today. I guess I just needed encouragement. I find myself reading LBT posts often while I eat to focus my concentration on the band and what its doing for me. I don't think I am at the green zone but I am very close.

It is hard to log into LBT these days

I was right there with you. I am 4 months out and lost 30 total.... the first 25 lbs were in the first month when I was on the pre and post op diets.... I have only lost 5 lbs in the last 3 months. Finally after my 2nd fill 2 weeks ago I started feeling very restricted and feel like I am where I should be with how much and what I am eating but it has taken me 4 months to get here and I completely felt defeated for being plateaued for so long! Good luck to you and hopefully you start feeling more positive again!

Very confused about lapband and reason for it

Dont give up hop! I had the same exact issue you are having. I felt restricted first thing because of the swelling but after that went away I could still way almost just as much as I did before. I started testing all of my limits and plateaued right off the bat. I got my first fill 6 weeks post op and had 3cc added to my 10cc band... I started feeling some restriction and stopped being able to cheat as much but I could still get way more down than a cup of food per meal. Now after my 2nd fill two weeks ago (2cc so 5cc) total, am I really feeling restricted. The change happened so drastically I thought I would have to have an unfill. My surgeon told me to stick it out since j hadn't lost any weight in 6 weeks. Well now that I am being forced to eat slow, small bites and only about 1/2- 1 cup of food in a 30-45 minute period of time I am finally feeling like the band is helping me. I feel like I will now be able to use it in aid to my weight loss rather than just letting it sit there. You just have to get through the hurdle hut it will be so worth it when you do!z

I Think I Am Too Tight

I am so sorry yo hear this. I pray you did not slip and maybe you just irritated your esophagus. Good luck!

I Think I Am Too Tight

I had my 2nd fill 4 days ago and I am really having a tough time. It takes an hour or more to eat a cup of food and if I take a bite that's too big or too quickly I instantly get stuck and feel like I need to vomit to get it to move. I am afraid I need to have some fluid removed but I am afraid to call or that I am just jumping to conclusions. I am just tired of being miserable. The last 4 days have been rough.

I Think I Am Too Tight

I thought I was stuck once when I had an upset stomach after eating bread but I soon realized what getting stuck actually Meant. Its when your food gets stuck in your esophogus and will not go down and wants to come back up. It makes your chest feel so constricted you feel like you can't breath. Sometimes burping will help loosen the pressure but that's if you can get one out... usually you just need to vomit. Its probably the worst most uncomfortable feeling yet sometimes is almost unavoidable. I feel like I am getting better but it is definitely going to take more than 1 week to get this figured out. I have lost 2 lbs this week which is significant since I had not lost any weight since my last fill Oct. 4th. Soooo even with all of the pain and frustrations I do think I have reached the green zone I just think it happened much quicker than I was prepared for. I feel as though I am having to retain every eating habit I have!
