You're all doing awesome! I was a low-bmi-er when I started this journey and have reached goal... I am so thankful that we have been able to receive surgery and have this wonderful tool that has, and will, change our lives forever!!! SO THANKFUL!

Hi! You all are doing so well!! For those of you who remember me, I wanted to give you an update. I finished chemotherapy in November, and was able to have vsg Feb. 18. My surgery was unusally painful and the doc suspected that it was because of the lung surgery I had not so long before. I am currently cancer free, losing weight and feeling awesome. I've missed you all.

So nice to hear all the nurses do like us CNA's lol. I can tell you I was sleeved on March 26th and I can tell you it is the best thing I ever did for myself. I feel 100% better I can tell it has made my job so much easier. I started at 327 and today was 268. I can tell you it is still pound for pound and as time goes no you still want those bad foods we all find comfort in. This has been my challenge the past few months. If any help to you all I had a hard time at first fearing this would not work because so many thing have not worked in the past. I did not want to go for my 2 week check up in fear it did not work. I lost 17lb the first week. Then it was the 6 week check up when the MA told me I was not doing well I was in the 10% for weight loss. I was dying to see the doc just knowing I was not doing well. He was upset she said that to me because at that stage it is to early to put a % on any weight loss. Most people are still holding Fluid from the surgery.
I love being back at work and if feels good to hear everyone say how good I look but said to say there are some haters who question if I really lost that much weight lol. I just keep in mind I have lost that much and I never had a goal weight in mind to reach. I went into this wanting to be a healther me and I am doing just that so I dont care where the scale ends as long as I feel better. Is it room spinning or shifting? Does it happen with certain movements it changes in position? I evaluate balance patients (dizziness/vertigo). What you're describing-dizzy, fainting doesn't sound like vertigo but something else. Maybe low blood sugar, low blood pressure, even dehydration. I'd get to a doctor.
I had some dizziness about 4-6 wks post op and was told it was from dehydration. I've worked hard at increasing my fluids and am feeling much better now. That being said, I'd still get in to a doctor!

I never had a "nervous" stomach until I was sleeved, now my emotions totally affect how much ( if anything) i can eat/drink.

Are you a nurse? I am starting a support group for nurses that are contemplating, undergoing or are now 'old pro's' with their sleeves!

You chose the rest of your life to be the best of your life. I am so happy for you. I haven't been on This forum but a couple months but from reading past threads I know you are active here and have been planning this for a while. It is gonna be so wonderful to see your journey. I wish you well.

82 lbs since pre-op diet. 22 lbs to personal goal.
Love eating far better food choices!, wearing skinny jeans, fitting into medium clothes, wearing pretty styles, how kind people have been, range of motion vastly improved, feeling my bones, walking in public with my head held confident for the first time in years, physically able to walk more or climb a hill on the beach in the sand, having my kids not be ashamed of my weight.
Hoping for my other personal goals to fall into place!

Just finished my second closet purge and I'm really struggling with it - again. I got through it once and I'll get through this one but I'm having such a hard time giving away my things. Even though I was fat I had some really nice things. Since I'm still in the phase were you blow through sizes each month I've been reluctant to buy nice things bc I don't want to waste my money. First world problems, right?
I'm no longer plus size and yet I'm scared to go into a regular store bc I feel like I'm going to get the "what are YOU doing in here?" look. My mind just isn't keeping up with my body!
I know I can't move forward without letting go of the past, but gosh this is all happening so fast.

I was able to get on a back up list for when people cancel or reschedule. I have completed everything so I am just waiting for a date which the wait is between 5 - 6 months after approval. But if this speeds it up, I am all for it!! I can be there in 1hour. LOL I don't even need a change of clothes!! Just kidding... but so serious!! They said it is at least a week notice!! I told her all I need in 20 mins to get someone to pick the kids up and to let my job know. LOL Good Luck to everyone still waiting... its so hard!!

I woke up this morning and weighed this morning and I am no longer obese, my BMI is 29.9!!!! I'm over weight!!
