  1. My wife (fellow VSG) loves them oh yeah bars. Good high Protein. If it helps her meet daily Protein goals' date=' no one is standing in her way on eating them. She just had me slep off to Vitamin shoppe to pick up a new box yesterday. They do look good, but carbs are too high for my taste. If I am going to have a high protein bar like this, it would have 1-3 g net carb max. I think if you can have the control to just eat one oh yeah a day, it should be fine. I just got some cookie dough Quest bars for myself yesterday (a concert from pure protein bars). I am not sure how often I will be eating them, maybe once a week or less. I hope they have a long shelf life!! Per above post, I only WISH a protein bar filled me up. Alas, I can eat 2-3 of these and, consequently, they have been demoted in my diet to emergency only. They sssssllliiidddeee right on through. I envy the people who get full on a protein bar.[/quote']

^^^^^^^i also wish the Quest bar weren't a sessssllliiiddder food......

  2. I didn't start buying right away.....bc the season changed I wore a lot of the stuff from last yr but they definitely fit much looser.....i thought i was at a size 10 and bought an 8 just to encourage myself' date=' when I got home it fit so nicely....was totally shockeddde33....since then I stop buying....I definitely would do the consignment shops but when I start again, I'm buying my goal size which is a 4/6....I have an event to go in December and I'm renting my dress. I ordered it in a 6 so that's inspiration for me. You should buy one or two things one size smaller than you are right now bc it's inspirational nd you know it will eventually fit. Be careful if you are in a seasonal area like me.[/quote']

I was going thru sizes fairly quickly. In dec I was a sz 12 and by may I was a sz 6 and now I wear a sz 2 or 4

  3. Me too!!! I was fine before with the powder shakes & week 3 I decided to bite the bullet and buy a big 5lb.bag AND some unflavored Protein.

Cant stand the unflavored stuff now Waste of 35.00!!!! I still choke down the other powder though. I can't stand how foamy the shakes get.

I got the Quest bars as well at my local Vitamin Shoppe and they are pretty good and have helped me as well! Crazy how your taste buds can change.

U can add different flavors . Mint extract and chocolate taste like girl scout cookie, chocolate and Peanut Butter taste like Reese PB cup.

    Try adding SF pudding mix.

U can buy SF Torani Syrup on line or Walmart but limited

  4. I am 11 months post op and I still drink shakes. I like banana creme and add too milk, almond milk , oatmeal, yogurt, Cereal. I started with a little bit at a time and I am up to a 1/2 a scoop. I do have chocolate, strawberry, double stuff cookie.

I also drink Isopure RTD I do mix with crystal light to make it taste better

I add powder Peanut Butter, Torani Syrup, extracts like , orange, mint, or sf pudding pudding mix. Someone once mentioned they use the flavor packets for the frosting. I keep forgetting to buy so I can try them out.

Not all Protein powders taste bad..

  5. I'm supposed to be on full liquids for 2 full weeks & I was sleeved on 7/16. I've been starving! Today I broke down & made a portion of Idahoan 4 cheese mashed potatoes (they come in little cups' date=' just add Water & nuke.) OMG, I thought I was eating some gourmet food! It went down well (I did eat slow) & for the first time in a week, I won't be going to bed hungry!

I have an appt on Wed with my surgeon & I'm going to tell him I want a refund! I thought he was supposed to cut out that part of your tummy that brings on hunger. He must have missed mine because I could eat a subway sandwich most times! [/quote']

I did forget too mention to take Prilosec. It will help.

Hi i believe it's head hunger. Try eating a Popsicle, drinking more fluids. Try walking .. Even at 11 months post op I get head hunger and once I start drinking my fluids it does get better.

  7. I have THE most unbearable trapped gas! I feel like it's the last bit. It just won't go! :'( I've walked' date=' taken gas x, drank hot tea. I burp a tiny bit. fart...and still. I just want it to releeeeeaaaaaase![/quote']

Hi, have some one pat your back, I had to have some one do that a couple of times post op.. Hope u start feeling better

  8. It does get better, remember you had major surgery, your body was and is going thru lots of changes. U r probably not getting all your Vitamins and not eating very much.

I had lots of trouble drinking Water for the first 9 months but I never stopped trying to drink fluids. I am now able to drink 6-8 cups of plain water or mixed with some kind of powder mix.

Start by walking and little by little you will get stronger. I used an app on my phone C25K to start walking jogging and then running.

Don't be so hard on yourself and your body is needing the rest..

  9. I was told to experiment with food but food is hit or miss! I am so over the 3 or 4 bites of food. I feel hungry and can not eat u graze! So over it I need to live on shakes and fruit.< /div>

Hi it does get better and even at 11 months and sometimes I eat a couple of bites and I feel full. You just have to keep on trying foods. If today it doesn't agree with you wait a week and try it again. I ate and still eat ground beef, ckn or tuna salad

eggs , cottage cheese, cream cheese, Soups, shakes, shrimp, fish, i add Protein powder to my oatmeal, Cereal , yogurt.

A couple of months ago I started eating more salads and fruit.

  10. Hope every one is injury free . Every one seems to be doing a great job..

It's getting very hot here in south Tx.

At this race they handed out ice cold towels.. It was very helpful as it was getting hotter and humid.

I ran my 2nd 10k this past saturday with a time of 1.11.31 a bit of improvement from my very first 10k.

I made a huge NO NO I ran with some newtons they had for anyone to test out. NEVER EVER AGAIN..

I will stick to my merrell or new balance..

    Since November 2012 I have ran 9 5 k's and 2 10k's.

my next goal is a half in Dec or Feb.

  13. Hi I have being reading everyone's posts, looks like everyone is doing a fantastic job. I started running back in late sept early Oct. did my first 5k in Nov. I've done 9 5ks and today ran my first 10k. My official time (from web site) was 1:12:15 . I don't have anything to compare it to. So I guess I am going to say I DID A DAMN GOOD JOB,,

I am training for a 1/2, I haven't registered for a race yet. My goal is to run a race or two every month.

Something that did help me in this race and the last 5k I'd to run/walk/run, that was something I read when BTB mentioned it on MFP. I did improve my time in the last 5k and didn't get to exhausted in the 10k.

I will continue to pop in and read your post. Thank you for all the advice and knowledge you share

GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE THAT HAS A PENDING RACE

  14. I was sleeved 8/27 & am down 100 plus a few. I have having this odd reaction to this weight loss. When I started getting close to 200' date=' I wanted it to slow down, I got like scared but I don't consciously feel scared, I am happy, thrilled, loving life. OK, so the scale goes to 195, all is good, goes to 190, all is good, now it is falling below 190, I am at 25 lbs to goal and my head is screaming, wait, not so fast, help, I'm not ready. Ready for what? I don't know? Is anyone else experiencing any of these CRAZY FEELINGS?[/quote']

I was sleeved on aug 29th and feel the same way. I have 15lbs to reach my goal weigh of 130. I have been up and down 144-145 for the last two weeks.

I am scared of going way below my goal wgt. Will I go back to my old ways once I am on maintenance . I do have those crazy feelings.
