  1. Thanks guys' date=' yeah, I keep seeing food and wanting it, but at the same time, I keep forgetting to drink my actual Protein shakes, which at least lets me know that most of the hunger I'm feeling is in my head.

Saw on another board that someone suggested doing milk, unflavoured greek yogurt, and some mio for flavour in place of a Protein shake, and I'm definitely trying that tonight. The slimy fake sweet of every shake I've tried just kills me.[/quote']

Have you tried premier Protein Shakes from costco? 30g of Protein and the chocolate ones are so good! NOT the vanilla lol but the chocolate ones.

And everyone's right, it's in your head and it's super hard but you just have to keep reminding yourself of all your struggles and how far you have came. I have not cheated but did chew done chicken at a party and spit it out lol just once. I cook for my daughter daily and always make sure I had my shake first so I don't feel like I want to taste it lol been working great for me. Keep it up u will, we all will get through this yay :-)

  2. Every hour it seems that my stomach starts growling and I am Hungary again..I don't even think of food until I feel this...on wondering if I'm eating too much...how much is everyone eating.? Today I had. 1/4 cup Cheerios ..a banana ..half peice of tilapia...2 oz of tuna. 2 deviled eggs. And 1 oz of Beans. That was the whole day..i feel that is soooo much. Is it normal? Too Much..idk..how to average things out please help

Hmmm are u also drinking Protein Shakes as Snacks? Today I had a little less than a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 1/4 cup of tuna w a dab of light mayo, 1/4 retried Beans w motzerella & dab of light sour cream & 1/4 cup of yellow squash. 3 meals and for 2 Snacks I had a cup of Protein Shake and my Clear Liquids. So ya it seems like a lot but we actually hv to eat 4-5x a day. I've experienced the hunger. Sometimes I'm just thirsty.

Anywho time for my walk I'm glad everyone is doing good! I'm down 33 pounds yay :-)

  6. It is a bad thing over the long-term. You can't stay in that mode forever. Your body needs carbs to survive. You lose a lot of weight at the beginning (that's the point of high protein' date=' low carb diets like Atkins). But eventually, your body will start to catabolize or "eat itself". At some point, you need to start adding some carbs back to your diet. You will still continue to lose, but you need carbs for energy. Be smart about using your sleeve and don't sacrifice your overall health for the sake of weight loss...K[/quote']

No worries here. I am still on full liquids so I think that's why I hv breath like this. Tomorrow I can have cottage cheese, string cheese, fat free refrained Beans n puréed & blended foods like banana & carrots. Can't wait. In hoping this breath leaves me lol I'm glad I'm loosing like crazy but I know I will anyways since I can only eat a tiny bit.

  7. Ketosis for weight loss - as explained above' date=' if the body can switch from being a carb-burning machine to a fat-burning one, the person loses weight. We store our fat, sometimes in undesirable places, such as our hips, buttocks, tops of thighs and our tummy. Carbohydrates cannot be stored like fat can. If our body is in carb-burning mode, we eat when carb (carbohydrate) levels go down, in order to get our energy. To achieve ketosis, the body must be on a high fat/protein and low carbohydrate diet. According to some organizations and experts, such as Dr. Atkins, with proper monitoring (urine dip stick, for example), levels of ketosis can be kept within safe limits and the dieter can reach his/her ideal bodyweight without suffering unbearable hunger.

There are certain risks on sustaining a prolonged high Protein, low carbohydrate diet. If keytone levels are not monitored properly, there may be a strain on the kidneys, there is a higher risk of developing kidney stones because more Calcium is excreted through urine, and there is a higher risk of osteoporosis. Some experts say there is also a higher risk of having unhealthily high cholesterol levels. However, several studies, such as this one have revealed that not only does a low-fat/high Protein diet reduce cholesterol levels, but it also brings down blood pressure in individuals with hypertension.

Experts cannot agree on whether ketosis caused by a low carb/high protein diet is good or bad for humans. Some say it is dangerous. While others point to human evolution: during most of the time that humans have existed; we have been a hunter-gatherer species and have lived primarily in a ketogenic state for extended periods. There are many documented cases of human societies today that exist in a long-term ketogenic state. After a 2 to 4 week period of adaptation, human physical endurance is not affected by ketosis, according to studies - meaning that we do not necessarily need a high carbohydrate intake in order to replace depleted glycogen stores for exercise. This makes the argument more compelling that, in fact, we are designed to thrive at certain levels of ketosis.[/quote']

Thanks for the info! Awesome. I actually got happy when I heard its a blessing n read up on it. I start food Monday well today but I'm waiting till Monday since I feel I need more fluids today :-)
