  1. LOVE this thread! I want to run a 10k I want to stop shuddering everytime i see my reflection in store windows I want to zipline I want to feel more confident to date again I want to not have high blood pressure I want to learn how to NOT be a slave to food.. food has made me its b***h. Now I want to make food MY b***h. hahaha Oh yeah and I soooo want to be able to buy clothes at the "normal" size store!
  2. I've never taken it but I know 2 different people who took it just before climbing into bed.. unfortunately they both woke up in their cars.. and neither of them remembered getting out of bed let alone driving! One totaled her car and was injured, the other gal fortunately 'just' ended up on some random person's lawn.. besides the addictive nature of it these stories also scared the crap out of me. Scary that docs prescribe it to people who don't know about it and for the most part we trust our doctors..
  3. wow congrats!!! how was your recovery the first couple days?
  4. understandable!! I think it will really help you once some of Dr Garcias former patients get on here too
  5. I gotta jump in on this one LOL I am an operating room nurse with great insurance except it will not cover ANYTHING weight loss related!! can you imagine?! in this day and age? LOL so I am going to Mexico with Dr Ponce next month. It costs 5500 and I am financing about 4000 because I didn't want to wait any longer to change my life and better my health. Also I just bought my first house this year so my savings basically all went into closing this house. Anyway I know I can work extra here and there or use a tax refund to hopefully pay it off sooner than the 3 yrs they gave me. Honestly I believe this is a smart move for me. At work I see (on a daily basis) what strokes and heart attacks and diabetes do to people.. I'm done! Basically it is SO worth it to me to pay crappy interest if it means I can do this right away. I'm not suggesting that everyone should just run out and take out a loan for this.. but for ME it was a valid option and I'm grateful the option was there!
  6. I have heard nothing but good things about him, I think you made a great choice... of course this is a very personal decision tho. I'm sorry i haven't been to him, I'm actually scheduled with Dr Ponce on 9-14 but I went back n forth between Ponce, Garcia and Kelly for weeks and finally just picked one LOL do a search for Dr Garcia, you will find tons of good stuff about other peoples' experiences!! also you can go to obesityhelp.com and do the same thing.
  7. ahhh ok LOL I had my gall bladder removed laparoscopically years ago and all I remember of it was of course the gas pain... but also the drive home. hahaha at the time we lived way out in the country off of a bunch of poorly paved roads and then a couple miles of dirt roads and every single bump made me go "ouch!!!" hahaha I'm definitely bringing my own pillow for 2 reasons.. #1 so that I sleep better while there.. and #2 so that I can hold it over my belly if I need to while we are driving
  8. I was told Dr. Ponce only asks for 3 days pre-op diet of liquids and yogurt.. I'm noticing there are SO many variations between what different doctors require!! I'm just gonna do what he asked for but have definitely scaled down my daily inhalation of high calorie low nutrient foods LOL for the most part I'm already sticking with high protein low carb and lots of water, trying to condition myself to it too I'm also trying to sllllllllllllllllow down how fast I eat and then really paying attention to when I don't feel hungry anymore. I've noticed there's a big difference for me between 'feeling full' vs. 'not feeling hungry'.
  9. have any of you used the border parking on the US border? I am going to TJ but was told it might be cheaper to park at the border parking lots than it is to park at the airport.. wondering if anyone knows what the going rate is? TIA
