  1. This concerns me. Maybe you mean simple carbs/sugars? Please say you're eating veggies and whole grains as we all need a well rounded diet though most of us concentrate on getting in a doctor-recommended amount of Protein.< /p>

No I don't include whole grains, vegetables, and dairy in my diet with the exception of cheese because of the carbs. I eat pure protein and good amounts of it. A friend recently gave me info on the Atkins diet carb free to get me past my stall.

  2. Good luck! When seeing a new primary they usually like to get to know you before giving you referrals especially something like this. I hope switching doesn't hold up and you have to wait awhile..

Hey everyone, just wanted to jump in and say hello. i've been reading these boards for 9 months, since i was diagnosed with HBP/Type II Diabetes/High Cholesterol. I was having trouble trying to conceive and my new OB noticed how high my A1C levels were. They told me not to get pregnant until I got my blood sugar under control… For the last 6 months, I've been trying to convince myself that I could lose the weight and reverse the Diabetes the old fashioned way-by working out and modifying my diet… Well, here we are, 6 months later and I'm 5lbs more than when I was diagnosed. . I finally decided today was the day to make the change and start getting better. I called Dr. McCluney's office to schedule an appointment, but my primary won't refer to him as he is out of network. So now I am switching to a new primary doc and waiting for that appointment, because my insurance requires a referral and I can't see Dr.Mc without one. Fingers crossed that I can get in with a new primary soon and get this all going. Initial consults for Dr. Mc are already into July for Brockton, so I'd have to see him at St. Elizabeth's in Brighton for a quicker appointment. The receptionist that helped me in the Brockton location was lovely and so helpful, and it seems from all of your comments and recommendations that all the staff are great, so I'm looking forward to the process. I love reading all of your stories and updates. It's giving me such great motivation and inspiration.

  3. I feel dizzy a lot. It seems that when I get up I'm always getting dizzy while I walk like I'm walking and I can't see ahead of me and sometimes i start shaking. I have to stop walking and stand still for just a few seconds and then I'm fine. This has already happened about 6 times today. I'm 15 months post op and this has been happening since early on post op.

  4. Hi welcome to the sleeve side. How did it go and how are you feeling I was in Salem for the first time a week ago it's a pretty nice place out there I'm from New Bedford

Hi fellow Massachusetts sleevers. I'm in Salem MA, having my sleeve at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA on December 9. I'm revising from the band which was taken out in April. Can't wait for my sleeve, I'm just finishing up week one of the liquid diet. Glad to meet you all.

  5. I lost 18 my first week and I know many that have lost quite a bit the first week have u called your dr that doesn't sound right to me

I was sleeved last Thursday' date=' 10/17. On the day of surgery, I weighed 302.6. I weighed myself this morning (6 days later) and was 301. I know people say to never use the word "only" with regard to a loss, but seriously?! Shouldn't I be dropping tons of weight in the beginning? Has anyone else started this slowly and then picked up?[/quote']
