  4. Dr. Alvarez wants me to be quit 2 weeks prior to surgery but said that I could wear the patch during surgery as long as it wasn't on my abdomen.... not sure how other surgeons do things
  5. I've already named mine.... I figure if my new stomach is anything like the one I've got now, it will be very temperamental..... so I've decided to call mine " Darth Sleevies"
  6. I'm going November 30th.... there is another thread on here with all of Dr. Alvarez's patients... they've been a great help for me.

  10. Hello George, it's normal to be feeling anxiety with any major surgery.... I'd be worried if you didn't feel nervous.... with that being said try and focus on why you are having the surgery... think and or write down all the positives that will happen after your recovery. I know it's hard to not be in control, Lord knows I feel the same way most of the time.... take a deep breath, put everything in God's hands... you're gonna do great!
  11. I'm going to Mx as well.... Dr. Alvarez sent me a paper with how much protein, calories, carbs..... 70-75% of all calories should be protein based, carbs should be 10-20% of the calories, diet should consist of 700-800 calories and 70 grams of protein first 6-8 months. Hope this helps
