  1. Hello everybody was just wondering is anyone here went to Mexico to get their sleeve done. I had my original consult done in Michigan I'm self pay since my insurance won't pay.... in Michigan the cost $24,500.00. Any who seen an ad Dr. Alvarez and it's much cheaper! Just wondering how everything is done with it being over the border
  2. I think I would contact your surgeons office and talk to them about this.... they would know if this will effect your insurance approval. Maybe you could get another blood work done while fasting to send in
  3. I would definitely check it out ... tsh is usually one of the first things checked. My A1C is at 5.9 with a little bit of weight loss
  4. Look for T3 or T4 those are tested along with the TSH.... to my knowledge it is included in a full blood work up
  5. I know the feeling.... it took 4 yrs to finally get the diagnosis! I had all the symptoms but according to my family doc and ob/gyn I was normal. Finally found an endocrinologist that don't just go by labs.. he actually treats the symptoms.
  6. Same for me I take synthroid once a day and have levels checked every six months. Things are okay as long as I take my meds... good luck !
  7. Hello Dawn and welcome! ! You should be excited because this surgery if you're anything like me could save your life. I haven't told anyone except my husband and 2 children.... but only because of not wanting to be judged. Good luck on your journey, keep me posted... we can do this !! Again welcome and God Bless
  8. Thank you ... it's nice to be able to talk to people that understand, that's been there. To be able to show your excitement without being judged by nay sayers on wls. Again thanks, will keep you posted on things
  9. Hello and thanks for replying .... I know, right! ! When they told me that I was approved and started rattling of dates , Halloween came up and it's like that's the one! ! Good things happen on this day..... after all, my daughter is a Halloween baby.
  10. Hello everyone, This is my first post on here so I thought I would introduce myself. It seems like my journey has been a lifetime ... I have struggled with my weight all my life. Lose some re-gain even more than I lost... I have done every diet known to mankind with the last attempt doing the optifast diet... and as usual, no weight loss. So I started researching wls.... had my initial consultation on July 14th and with help from Dr. Nunn at Barix Clinics decided to go with the sleeve. Surgery is set for October 31st... I'm so excited to get this done... the thought of actually being healthy is so exciting! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Cora
